Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - After a two-hour journey, we will arrive at the entrance to the Longji Terraces, where entrance tickets for the rice terraces in Dazhai Village need to be purchased, followed by a 40-minute drive. This village boasts the most renowned and stunning rice terraces in Longji.
The Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces is a magnificent agricultural marvel with a history spanning over 650 years. The most striking section of the terrace cluster is the Ping’an Village Rice Terrace, the first to be discovered by tourists and photographers. Numerous narrow rice fields carved along the hill slopes form terraces linked by winding flagstone paths. Viewing platforms are available for visitors to admire the entire terrace fields built in tiers. While visiting, you can also immerse yourself in the traditional lifestyle of the minority Zhuang people. It’s quite fascinating to assist them in the fields, try on their vibrant ethnic costumes, and explore their unique stilted houses. -
Longji Mountain - Upon arrival in Dazhai Village, our English-speaking driver will provide a local map and guide you on how to explore this village, offering options for hiking or using the cable car.
Dazhai Village, with Jinkeng Rice Terraces, is located about 120 km from Guilin City and 50 km from Longsheng County. The Red Yao people residing in Dazhai Village, part of Jinkeng Red Yao Villages, lead a traditional lifestyle. They excel in singing and dancing and enjoy wearing Red Yao attire.
You can hike to Jinkeng Rice Terraces to appreciate the terraces and village views. The village houses are scattered around Jinkeng Rice Terraces. Enjoying nature while discovering Red Yao culture will enhance your Longsheng experience.
There are three viewpoints for the sunrise: Viewpoint 1 (“Xishan Shaoyue” – the highest and most expansive viewpoint) is ideal for capturing the sunrise and sunset, Viewpoint 2 (Thousands-layer Terraces – Qianceng Tianti) is perfect for enjoying the sunrise and Dazhai Yao Village, and Golden Buddha Peak (Jinfo Ding) is best for photographing the sunset. You can take a cable car to Golden Buddha Peak from the entrance of Dazhai Village Scenic Area. - Guilin - At the conclusion of the Longji Terraces tour, you will be transported back to your hotel in Guilin/Yangshuo/Xingping in our private car.

A very well-priced and interesting tour! - I found myself in odd situation of having about 12 hours available to visit Guilin (flying in and out in one day) and desperately wanted to see the rice terraces. None of the tours I could find on Tripadvisor suited my needs perfectly so I added Andy using his contact number and told him when I was arriving and departing. He responded immediately and together we made a plan that hit all the highlights! The day was efficient and flexible, Andy gave us lots of options and recommendations along the way, and he was great company for myself and my husband. The car was very comfortable and we felt safe throughout. I thought the price was also very reasonable, especially considering it was a private tour. Andy had lots of knowledge and told us about all sorts of interesting things in the area, and pointed out lots of creatures and sights we wouldn't have notices on our own. I will be recommending him to anyone that visits Guilin in the future. Thanks, Andy!
