Yangshuo Xianggong Hill Sunrise & Xingping Fisherman Sunset. Overnight in Yangshuo.

Xianggong Mountain - Ascending Xianggong Hill offers a breathtaking aerial view of the Lijiang River meandering through numerous peaks. Each year, many photographers are drawn to Xianggong Mountain by its captivating light and shadow, sea of clouds, and stunning morning glow at sunrise. A photographer from Guilin even won a bronze medal at the 10th International Photography Exhibition with a piece created here. Participants will have the chance to capture this picturesque scenery themselves while enjoying the sunrise on this half-day small group tour!

Itinerary

• 3:30 am: Pickup from your downtown Guilin hotel (4:30 am if staying in Yangshuo)
• 3:30 am to 5:00 am: Travel to Xianggong Mountain
• 5:20 am to 7:00 am: Explore Xianggong Mountain and photograph the full view of the Li River
• 7:00 am to 8:30 am: Return to your downtown Guilin or Yangshuo hotel

Xingping Town - The “fishing lights on the Li River” is a traditional aspect of a local Lijiang fisherman’s lifestyle. Around 5:00 pm in the late afternoon, the fisherman uses only a paddle, bamboo leaf, lantern, and his cormorant bird to catch fish. He relies on mutual trust with the cormorant, without the need for hooks or bait.

The fisherman show lasts approximately 1.5 hours. During the show, you will witness the traditional fisherman wearing a hat and raincoat, the cormorants catching fish, the fisherman casting nets, smoking on the boat, and lighting the lamp at sunset.

Itinerary:

• 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Your guide will meet you in your Yangshuo hotel lobby and transfer you to the Xingping river pier (3:00 pm pickup from Guilin hotel).
• 5:00 pm to 6:50 pm: Enjoy the fisherman show and the beautiful sunset at the Li River.
• 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm: Return to your Yangshuo or Guilin hotel.

Xingping Xialong Sunrise & Cuiping Hill Sunset. Tour Conclusion.

Xingping Town - Experience the Li River’s sunrise or misty-morning photos around the Li River. You will be taken to the dock in Xingping to enjoy the serene river as you take a ferry to nearby sunrise spots for fantastic sunrise photos. This stretch is one of the most spectacular on the river, featuring the view depicted on the 20-yuan banknote.

Itinerary:

• 4:00 am to 4:40 am: Pickup from Yangshuo or Guilin hotel lobby.
• 5:00 am to 7:00 am: Enjoy the Li River sunrise with the fisherman.
• 7:00 am to 8:00 am: Return to Guilin or Yangshuo hotel.

Join us in Guilin where we will prepare a photography expedition under the guidance of native guides. We can schedule a tour to Yangshuo, Xingping, Longsheng, and the Dragon’s Backbone (Longji Rice Terraces), including sunrises and sunsets at Li River. We can further arrange for the region’s most photogenic cormorant fishermen on bamboo rafts and local farmers to pose for pictures in spectacular locations… chosen specifically for the light angle based on the time of year.

Commute arrangements will be made from and to your hotel in Guilin/Yangshuo.
