• Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - In the morning, the driver will display your name and meet you at your Guilin or Yangshuo hotel at 8 am to take you to the Longji Rice Terraces. The drive from a central Guilin hotel to Longji terraces takes about 2 hours, while pick-up from the Yangshuo hotel area requires a 3-hour drive. The Longji Rice Terraces boast some of the most breathtaking scenery in China, or even the world. They are stunning when the sun reflects off the water in the paddy fields and glow with golden ears when the harvest is ripe. Longji (Dragon’s Back) is truly a visual delight. Covering approximately 66 square kilometers (25 sq mi), the terraced fields are built into the hillsides, resembling grand amphitheaters or ribbons as they wind around the contours in tiered bands.

• Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge - After visiting the Longji Rice Terraces, the journey continues to the Changyang Dong village, which is an hour’s drive via the highway. The first stop is the Chengyang Bridge, also known as the Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge (or Yongji Bridge or Panlong Bridge), which is one of the most renowned wind and rain bridges in China. Located in Sanjiang County of Guangxi Municipality on the Linxi River, it was constructed in 1912 and spans 64.4 meters in length, 3.4 meters in width, and 10.6 meters in height.

• Chengyang Bridge Scenic Resort - After crossing the bridge, you will enter the Chengyang Dong Villages, which include eight traditional natural villages: Ma’an, Ping Zhai, Yan Zhai, Pingtan, Dong Zhai, Da Zhai, Pingpu, and Jichang. In this 12.55 square kilometer area, the eight villages are home to about 2,200 Dong families and over 10,000 people, creating a natural Dong Minority Museum. Each village features a wind and rain bridge, a drum tower, and a stage, with different villages showcasing unique styles in the design of these public Dong architectures. If time permits, you can hire a local villager to explain the differences between each village, which is very interesting.

• Zhaoxing DongZhai - Arrival at the Zhaoxing village parking lot is expected around 6:30-7:00 pm. The hotel in Zhaoxing will be contacted prior to arrival, and the hotel staff will meet you at the village gate to guide you to the hotel.
