• Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - A private driver and personal guide will pick you up from your hotel in Guilin or your accommodation in Yangshuo/Xingping. The pickup times and travel details are as follows:
  From Guilin, it takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach Ping’an, covering a distance of 100KM.
  From Yangshuo, the drive is about 2 hours via the highway, covering 150KM.
  From Xingping, the journey takes around 2.5 hours via the highway and regular roads, covering 180KM.
  The first stop will be at the Longji ticket office for a 15-minute break to purchase tickets before continuing by car to Ping’an or Dazhai village.

• Ping’an Village - The initial stop is at the ‘Long Hair Village’, Huangluo, where Yao women grow their hair to impressive lengths, some reaching 6.6 feet (2 meters)! Discover the Yao lifestyle here before heading to Ping’an Village, nestled among the breathtaking rice terraces of Longji. This village still features traditional wooden houses, where Zhuang and Yao minorities have cultivated their fields for centuries.

  Enjoy a traditional lunch in Ping’an (at your own expense) before your guide takes you through the rice terraces, sharing the history of how these magnificent landscapes were shaped over centuries as locals carved fields from the steep slopes of Longji. Immerse yourself in the lush scenery and tranquil atmosphere while capturing timeless photographs.

  If returning to Guilin, departure is typically around 3:30 pm (for those staying in Yangshuo, departure is at 4:30 pm), with arrival back at your destination around 5:30 pm.

Longsheng County is situated within the Guilin area (prefecture) in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The county’s primary attraction is the Longji rice terraces, known locally as Dragon Backbones. Visitors can also enjoy the hot springs and explore the quaint mountain villages nestled among the lush forests of trees and bamboo. The Longji Terraced Field is approximately 100km northeast of downtown Guilin, requiring about a 2-hour drive from the city. The rice terraces are ingeniously constructed into the hillsides.
