Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - We will pick you up at your hotel lobby in the city center of Guilin at 8:15am you will set off for Longsheng.
You will travel up and down in the mountain area and reach the entrance of Longji rice Terraces Scenic Area around at 10:30am. First stop will be at the minority village - Huang Luo Yao Village visit about 30 minutes.
After, we will take you to pingan rice terraces or Dazhai rice terraces , and you will enjoy about 2.5 hour short hiking tour in the afternoon. En-route you will appreciate the fascinating view of the rice terraces. The terraces are still used for growing premium quality rice by Yao and Zhuang villagers. The lunch time is flexible, it depends on your appetite. Afterword’s,The rice terraces sightseeing will be end at around 3pm. This concludes the tour for the day, we will take you back to your hote in Guilin at 6:00pm.

Starting from Guilin, one can explore the rich cultures and customs of ethnic minorities, marvel at the breathtaking terraced fields, savor local cuisines, and appreciate the diverse and stunning landscapes of the terraced fields throughout the four seasons. In spring, the water-filled terraces reflect like mirrors. In summer, they turn green and vibrant as rice seedlings are transplanted. In autumn, the ripening rice turns the fields a golden yellow. In winter, the snow-covered terraces create softer, smoother lines, forming an elegant ink-wash painting alongside the mountains, bamboo forests, and villages.

Longji's Enchanting Beauty: A Perfect Trip with Exceptional Service - The scenery of Longji itself is a charming painting, and the service of the travel agency has added a perfect touch to this trip. The prompt response from the customer service solved all my doubts, and the convenience of the private vehicle allowed us to adjust the itinerary flexibly. It was really great. Especially the tour guide, who was not only gentle and meticulous but also gave vivid and interesting explanations about the different areas of Guilin's environment, making our entire journey full of learning and surprises!!

Immersive cultural journey - The Yao dance performance was so cool! Their long hair and traditional customs were super unique. Our guide, Tom, was super knowledgeable and explained everything to us. The whole experience, from booking to the actual trip, was seamless—no hidden fees or surprises. Tom really took us off the beaten path, showing us some amazing natural spots. It was pure immersion, and I loved every minute of it!

Perfect experience of Longji Terraces - It was amazing to harvest rice in Longji! Our guide Lily spoke fluent English and shared Zhuang traditions with passion. The private car trip was smooth and the route allowed us to explore the terraces and villages at our own pace. The perfect blend of culture and nature was amazing!!

A stunning view of the Longji rice terraces - These three pictures are a wonderful blend of nature and culture. The first shows a joyful group on a hill, capturing a sense of adventure. Highly recommended! - Charles helped plan our day from Guilin travelling to Longshen. It was a thoughtful itinerary to make sure that we have a great experience visiting Huang Lao Yao Village and to see the spectacular rice terraces in Ping’an Village.

Private day trip: Longji Rice Terrace and Huangluo Yao (Ancient) Village - Charles communicated with us before our trip via WhatsApp, ensuring all our needs were met, especially minimal walking for the three senior citizens in our group. Overall, I found Charles to be professional and reliable. Normally, we don’t have a habit of chartering a tour guide, but we had no regrets with this team! The pick-up was right from our hotel lobby, and after a full day of exploring, we were dropped off back at our hotel lobby as well, making it incredibly convenient. We were also provided with mineral water throughout the journey, which was a thoughtful touch.
We had Jenny as our English-speaking guide, along with a fantastic driver in a safe, clean SUV. While I’d requested English, Jenny’s ability to also speak Cantonese was a pleasant surprise. She took wonderful care of us, bringing knowledge, humor, and kindness to our trip. Even after our day tour ended, Jenny continued helping me with queries via WeChat. We highly recommend this tour company—special thanks to Jenny and Charles for making our experience so comfortable.
Trip Details: Our family of six chartered Charles’ services for a day trip from Guilin to Longji Rice Terraces and Yao Village. On the way, we stopped at Huangluo Yao Village and enjoyed a unique performance by the Hong Yao Minority tribe, known for their long, shiny black hair—a wonderful cultural insight! Jenny then took us to a village restaurant for delicious bamboo-cooked rice and chicken, a local specialty that was fantastic. Following my request to avoid hiking, we used an electric cart to reach the scenic areas at Ping An Rice Terrace. The views were spectacular, and Jenny shared interesting facts along our scenic walk. The tour extended a bit longer than planned, but we were kindly reassured to take our time.

Spectacular rice terraced fields and cultural insights! - My friend and I went to the Longji Rice terraces and Yao Village with Charles Guilin Tours. The rice fields was very scenic especially the Dragon and Nine Tigers terraces! Our guide Wang Pin was great and took us for a walk through the terraces and Zhuang Village! Watched the cultural Yao performance. Great experience with Charles Guilin Tours!

Spectacular centuries old rice terraces! - My friend and I visited the Longji Rice Terraces, Zhuang Village and Yao Village with Charles Guilin Tours. The views of the rice terraces were fantastic especially the view of Nine Dragons and Five Tigers! Our guide Wang Bin took us on a great walk through the rice terraces and Zhuang Village! We also visited the Yao Village and enjoyed a show performed by the Yao people themselves! Watch the women folks with their beautiful long long hair! A good cultural insight! Thank you Charles Guilin Tour for a great trip!
