A stroll through the area reveals the bishop’s castle, constructed in the 13th century on Káptalandomb hill. The town boasts thermal and healing springs, which led to the establishment of a spa. • Bratislava Castle - Bratislava Castle is situated on a site fortified for millennia. Initially a defensive stronghold, it was transformed into a Renaissance-Gothic palace in the 15th century. It gained its distinctive four-tower appearance when it served as the splendid residence of Ferdinand I of Habsburg. Interestingly, the castle actually has only one original tower, the 13th-century Crown Tower, which once held the crown jewels. A replica of these jewels is now on display. The other three towers were added later. Inside, the castle houses an exhibition of the Slovak National Museum. The original interior was lost when the castle burned down in 1811, but it was restored in 1953. The castle provides a stunning view of the Alps and the Carpathians. From the terraces, one can see the Danube and the Austro-Hungarian border. Legend suggests an underground road leads from here to Vienna.
