Boderlands was highlight of Vietnam holiday - Book with Borderlands. The geography, outstanding natural beauty and the local people are of course the star of any tour around the Ha Giang loop so this review will focus on the service and mechanics of the tour which were *excellent*. Boderlands were flexible, communicative and friction free with us throughout the booking process. We booked a car tour and had a capable and comfortable SUV (Toyota Fortuner) driven expertly by the friendly Chuyen. Our guide was Lee, is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area, history and culture of the Hmong people. He is a friendly, fun and cool guy who really went the extra mile for us to enjoy the whole trip, everyday for every minute he was with us. Lee would buy little samples of food and objects for us at various markets and also have fun with the locals. Can't give enough praise for Lee as it looked like he was having fun too whilst remaining a seasoned professional also a constant well of information. Constantly pointing out people and sights we may have missed as well as the occasional well timed jokes and levity. My warmest thanks to Lee and Chuyen for their time, they really made the trip something special and laid back at the same time. We stopped at multiple markets and vista points for photos but the real value and difference with Borderlands is taking you away from the main roads everyday several times to see the more remote spots and people, usually only accessible by bike or on foot. Often our SUV was waiting for us after walking through an area as not to have to double back. We visited a farming area on a misty day which was atmospheric and humbling to see how the local Hmong people lived and worked the land for subsistence, especially their incredible talent for using the almost vertical slopes of the innumerable mountains for agriculture. Also swam in a famous waterfall pool, visited a kings castle, a mountain silver smith village which was in an achingly magical setting like something out of the Lord of The Rings. Really enjoyed the night of a few beers and a seriously good hotpot in the larger town Don Vang with it's lively outdoor weekend nightlife. Most of the journeys between stops were filled with detailed and nuanced historical information about Vietnam, it's people and the northern border areas along with details about the various wars that the people fought against multiple invaders and colonisers. All the accommodations were welcome and comfortable small modern hotels or (the hillside retreat near the "horse test pass") charming rustic grandeur with all modern facilities and an amazing view. Most impressive view I've ever opened curtains to, get up early for the dawn colours! Each day was a jam packed of activities and sights with the unending mountain views as we climbed and descended switchbacks through passes and valleys. One day in particular felt like two days worth of holiday for the amount of memories created. Big thanks to Borderlands, Lee and Chuyen for an unforgettable time. 10/10 5 stars "would go again/100"

Magnificient Ha Giang region - We were lucky enough to discover the magnificent Ha Giang region of Vietnam thanks to the Borderland agency, and we couldn't have wished for a better organization! We had a booking error with our first night in a hotel, and the owners showed exemplary professionalism, resolving the problem in less than 30 minutes with efficiency and courtesy. The experience among the local minorities was authentic and deeply enriching, allowing us to discover their culture in a respectful and immersive way. Our guide and driver were wonderful companions, always smiling, caring and passionate about their region. Thanks to them, every moment of the trip was punctuated by warm exchanges and fascinating discoveries. We highly recommend this agency to anyone looking for a unique, well-organized experience in Vietnam!

The best experience of my life! - Beautiful tour that brought us to the most remote and beautiful places in Ha Giang province. We were all alone for almost the 80% of the trip, skipping the big tour groups and focusing on the unspoiled areas of the north. Can’t recommend it enough.
