Wonderful experience! - Breathtaking views, attentive support, careful and kind drivers, delicious food, good accommodations, a rich program, and an incredible amount of emotions in just a couple of days. They answered all my questions and accompanied me from start to finish. I highly recommend it and am sure this is a must-see in Vietnam. With great gratitude and delight, my phone full of memories and a warm heart, I'm leaving.

Highly recommend - Highly recommend! Super nice drivers I love all of them! However, besides a helmet there is no other protection so be aware of that.

Review: 2-Day Ha Giang Loop Tour – Small Group (Self-Driver Option) - Overall, this trip was a mixed experience. The organization was unfortunately quite poor, but I want to emphasize that our guides really tried their best to make the most out of the situation. We booked the self-driver tour with single rooms, so we were quite disappointed with how things turned out. The trip already started a bit strange: we were picked up by a sleeping bus at 8 PM. I honestly don’t understand why it has to be a sleeping bus for this route. The drivers were driving like crazy on the road to Ha Giang and you constantly get thrown around in the bus. Both the trip there and back were a terrible experience and definitely not relaxing. We arrived in Ha Giang around 2 AM in the middle of the night, and were told that there were no single rooms left, so everyone would have to sleep in a dorm. After a phone call with the agency we eventually got the last single room, but it had already been used and had not been cleaned. The next morning the tour started. Our guide gave me a short introduction to the motorcycle and then we began riding through the incredible mountain passes. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking and honestly made up for many of the bad experiences before. However, one downside of the self-driver option is the motorcycle. You only get a small 110cc bike with drum brakes, which is quite disappointing—especially because all the Easy Riders have larger and more powerful bikes. This makes you feel pressured to keep up with the group. At one stop I explained that the bike simply couldn’t go faster with two people and luggage, and that the brakes needed adjustment because they were very weak (drum brakes only). I also made clear that I wouldn’t ride at high speed over foggy and wet mountain passes. After that, the group was more considerate and the pace became more reasonable. Despite that, we still arrived before sunset at the second “hotel”. Unfortunately the same issue happened again: all single rooms were suddenly fully booked. Our guide tried to arrange something and eventually we were given a small single room in a metal shack above the driver area, without a private bathroom. The bathroom had to be shared with all the Easy Riders and by that time there was no hot water left. At that point we decided to leave the hostel and book a hotel in the same town at our own expense, which honestly turned out to be the best decision of the whole trip. What I really don’t understand is how single rooms can always be “fully booked”, even though our travel agent supposedly reserved them weeks in advance. Tip for future self-drivers: Book the dorm option for the tour and then organize your own hotel through Booking or Agoda for around 15–20€ per night. Also ask for a proper motorcycle at the start. And if possible, choose the 3- or 4-day version of the Ha Giang Loop, because riding 8+ hours per day on mountain passes can be quite exhausting for casual riders. Finally, I want to praise our Easy Rider guides, who really tried to make the best out of a poorly organized situation. On the second day there were maybe a few too many stops at viewpoints without much added value. It would have been nicer to include another activity like the Sky Pass viewpoint stop we had on the first day. Conclusion: The landscape of the Ha Giang Loop is absolutely stunning and worth seeing, but the organization of this particular tour was disappointing. Luckily, the guides did their best to make it a memorable experience despite the issues.
