Ha Giang – Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate – Tham Ma Pass - H’Mong King Palace – Dong Van Ancient Town

Ha Giang - Enjoy a delightful breakfast at 8:00 at Odyssey Hostel, choosing between an American or Vietnamese breakfast with tea or coffee. Meet the tour guide and commence the loop at 08:30. If opting to drive, receive a brief motorbike riding lesson and follow the guide according to the planned itinerary.

Quan Ba Heaven Gate - This picturesque spot in Ha Giang province offers breathtaking views of mountains, valleys, and villages. A highlight is the Twin Mountains, also known as the Fairy Breast Mountains, resembling a pair of breasts. Legend says they were left by a fairy who loved a Hmong man but had to return to heaven.

A 20-30 minute stop is scheduled at the checkpoint.

Yen Minh - From 11:00 to 12:00, lunch is served in Yen Minh Town, featuring rice, meat, egg, and vegetables. Vegetarian options are available upon prior request.

Viewpoint dốc Thẩm Mã (trên) - The Tham Ma pass stretches 5 km at an altitude of 1500 meters, featuring a sharp, zigzagging road. At the top, a checkpoint offers photo opportunities of the winding s-shaped road. Ethnic minority children often wander here with flowers.

A 20-30 minute stop is scheduled at the checkpoint.

Dinh Vua Meo - The Hmong king palace, home to Hmong kings Vuong Chinh Duc and Vuong Chi Sinh, was built between 1902-1907, blending Hmong, French, and Chinese architectural styles. It boasts 64 rooms across three zones and a protective stone wall. Located in Sa Phin valley, it is a national relic and tourist attraction.

A 1-hour stop is scheduled here.

Dong Van Ancient Street - After a day of motorbiking, stay in Dong Van ancient town, surrounded by rocky mountains. Known for its historic houses, vibrant markets, and festive evenings, it serves as a cultural and commercial hub with cafes, restaurants, homestays, and souvenir shops.

Dinner is from 18:00 to 19:00, offering options like chicken hotpot or rice, meat, egg, and vegetables. Vegetarian options are available upon prior request. Enjoy free time for activities such as coffee, karaoke, drinks, or massage (not included in the tour).

Dong Van Town - Ma Pi Leng Pass - Nho Que River - Du Gia Village

Dong Van Ancient Street - Check out at 8:00, followed by a Vietnamese breakfast. At 8:30, continue the Ha Giang Loop via 4C road.

Ma Pi Leng Pass - Renowned for its challenging curves and steep cliffs, Ma Pi Leng Pass spans 20 km at 1,200 - 1,400 meters above sea level. It offers stunning views of the Nho Que River and Tu San Canyon, the deepest in Southeast Asia. As a UNESCO Global Geopark, it showcases unique rock formations and the cultural heritage of local ethnic communities. Ideal for adventure and nature enthusiasts.

Stops at scenic checkpoints are planned, with a 30-45 minute rest.

Nho Que River - Flowing through Vietnam and China, the Nho Que River offers breathtaking views of Tu San Canyon and Ma Pi Leng Pass. A favorite among adventure and nature lovers, it showcases Ha Giang province’s beauty and diversity. A 2-hour boat trip along the river is planned to admire the scenery.

Meo Vac - After a busy morning, head to Meo Vac Town for lunch before taking another route back to Ha Giang city. Lunch includes rice, meat, and vegetables, with vegetarian options available upon prior request.

Du Gia - Nestled in Du Gia national park, this serene village is home to 14 villages and 9 ethnic minority groups, each with unique traditions, costumes, and languages. Visit the Du Gia waterfall, 5 km from the main town, for a refreshing and scenic experience. Enjoy stunning landscapes of mountains, rice fields, and traditional wooden houses.

Du Gia Village - Road 181 - Lung Tam Weaving Village - Ha Giang City

Du Gia - Breakfast is served between 8 - 9 AM before returning to Ha Giang city.

Lùng Tám - Witness the traditional Hmong linen weaving process in Lung Tam village, located at the foot of a high mountain in Lung Tam commune, Quan Ba district. Home to about 130 Hmong households, the village produces linen products like clothes, bags, scarves, and blankets using natural materials and hand techniques. The intricate process involves 41 steps from planting hemp to dyeing and embroidering fabric, reflecting Hmong culture and identity.

Ha Giang - Arrival in Ha Giang city is expected around 4 – 5 PM, with the option to catch the 4 - 5 PM bus to Hanoi.
