Dambulla Cave Temple - Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, a representative from THE VISIT LANKA will warmly welcome you and serve as your chauffeur for this popular 8-day tour in Sri Lanka, taking you directly to Sigiriya. Depending on your arrival time, a visit to the Dambulla Cave Temple may be scheduled. If not, the visit will be arranged for a later date. You will spend the night in Sigiriya, checking into a hotel of your choice, ranging from Budget/Economy to Standard or Luxury accommodations. Enjoy a relaxing day at your leisure.

Sigiriya-Polonnaruwa

Polonnaruwa - On the morning of the second day, you will travel to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa to explore the remnants of the Chola Dynasty. Following this, savor an authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry meal. Afterwards, embark on a safari tour, and upon its conclusion, return to the hotel.

Polonnaruwa was a significant city in Sri Lanka, gaining prominence during its brief 200-year history, second only to the ancient city of Anuradhapura in cultural heritage. Today, Polonnaruwa showcases remarkable ancient Sri Lankan architecture from the 12th Century AD, intertwined with numerous Buddhist monasteries and monuments built by King Parakramabahu I.

Sigiriya - Kandy

Kandy Lake - After a delightful breakfast, you will head to the renowned Sigiriya Rock, where you can climb to the top of this ancient rock fortress. Following this, you will journey to the beautiful city of Kandy, with a planned visit to a spice garden along the way. You will then proceed directly to your hotel in Kandy.
Sigiriya Rock is relatively easy to climb, with approximately 1,200 steps to the summit, equivalent to about 60 flights of stairs. Depending on your fitness level, crowd size, and interest, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to reach the top.

If climbing the fortress is not possible, a car tour around the rock is available, allowing for a pleasant experience and photo opportunities. Special care is provided for the elderly, including a helper if needed.

Kandy

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, enjoy the opportunity to visit Kandy, including the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and the Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. In the evening, attend a fantastic traditional Sri Lankan dance event. Spend the night in Kandy.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, or Sri Dalada Maligawa, is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka, located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, housing the Buddha’s tooth relic.

Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, located about 5.5 km west of Kandy in Sri Lanka’s Central Province, attract 2 million visitors annually and are renowned for their orchid collection.

Kandy - Ella

Ravana Ella Falls - After a hearty breakfast, travel to Nuwara Eliya, enjoying views of beautiful waterfalls and tea plantations along the way. If a train is available upon arrival at the station, enjoy a breathtaking train ride to Ella; otherwise, travel by car. Spend the night in Ella.

The route from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya is scenic, with lush tea plantations. Visit a tea estate and factory to observe the plucking and processing of famous Ceylon tea.

Nuwara Eliya is a picturesque, hilly city at an elevation of 1881m, with a pleasant climate that attracts visitors. There are many lovely places to explore. Nanu Oya railway station is nearby, and the train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella offers magnificent views.

Ella - Tissamaharama

Ella - After a delightful breakfast, depart early to explore Ella’s beautiful and popular sites, such as Little Adams Peak and the Nine Arch Bridge. After visiting these attractions, travel to Tissamaharama to visit the renowned Yala National Park, with a stop at the stunning Rawana Falls along the way.

Upon arrival at the hotel, enjoy lunch before heading to Yala National Park for a safari tour. Spend the night in Tissamaharama.

The Nine Arches Bridge, also known as the Bridge in the Sky, is a viaduct bridge in Sri Lanka and a prime example of colonial-era railway construction. Access the site via a jungle-like road, with tuk-tuk transportation available for those unable to walk through the jungle.

Tissamaharama - Mirissa

Galle Fort - As part of your 8-day Sri Lanka itinerary, travel from Yala to Mirissa. After breakfast in Yala, explore Sri Lanka’s stunning combination of sun, sand, and water. Mirissa Beach’s breathtaking sandy shores transform dreams of a tropical paradise into reality, offering some of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Part of Mirissa Beach is ideal for surfing, with numerous water activities available. Spend the night in Mirissa.

Mirissa - Colombo Airport

Bandaranaike International Airport - No specific itinerary is planned for the day. After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Bandaranaike International Airport in time for your flight (at least 2-3 hours before departure), marking the end of this tour.
