• Khe Sâu - A tranquil small village nestled in a valley connecting the center of Cat Ba and Cat Ba National Park.
• Hospital Cave - During the Vietnam War, from 1963 to 1965, Hospital Cave was transformed into a small-scale field hospital with 40 patient rooms, including an operating room. It secretly treated wounded Vietnamese soldiers, shielding them from American detection and attacks. To ensure hygiene and safety for the staff and soldiers, the army concreted the cave, creating a secure yet airy space. This natural limestone cave covers an area of about 1,500 m², featuring a unique entrance and exit.
• Cat Ba National Park - Home to 1,500 plant species, including many rare ones listed in the Red Book such as Chò Chỉ, Lim Xanh, Vàng Tâm, and Lan Kim Tuyến, and over 282 vertebrate species including 78 mammals, 160 birds, 20 reptiles, and 11 amphibians. Notably, the Cat Ba Langur, an extremely rare primate globally, highlights the park’s rich biodiversity. Besides its terrestrial ecosystem, Cat Ba’s marine ecosystem is also abundant, with nearly 500 fish species, over 200 mollusks, dozens of coral species, and many other valuable marine creatures.
• Hien Hao - Hien Hao is a small village located along the only road connecting the coastal road and the island’s main road in Cat Ba. It is the only village where traditional agricultural activities are fully preserved. The locals still cultivate rice, fish with nets, raise bees, grow medicinal plants, and cultivate various vegetables for daily life. Visitors can meet and interact with the locals, visit a beekeeper’s house, taste natural honey, and learn about the local lifestyle.
• Thien Long Cave - Considered one of the largest and most pristine caves on Cat Ba Island and in the entire Lan Ha Bay. To reach the cave, visitors must take a small boat through the unique, ecologically diverse mangrove forest in the island’s wetland area to the cave entrance. From there, they continue on foot with personal flashlights to observe the stunning stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave.
