Amazing day in the bay - We had a fantastic day out in Lan Ha & Ha Long bays with our knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic guide Hang. Though the weather wasn't favourable for our trip, we enjoyed the swimming and kayaking spots where we were the only people there and could really take in the beauty of the surroundings. Unfortunately we were told that Vietnamese govt policy now forbids kayaking in caves, but our route still explored scenic and exciting lagoons and we explored some caves via a group rowing boat. The lunch and snacks provided by the boat crew was great, and other snacks and drinks on board were reasonably priced. All in all it was a fantastic and memorable day in gorgeous surroundings made better by the great Cat Ba Ventures team - cheers :)

Geile Nummer - It was amazing, we did: kayak, swimming, seeing a fish farm, a little boat ride and our guide Tony explained us everything. All for the price of round about 32€ from 8:20am-17:00 pm. We also had lunch, which included fish and Seafood (like squid, shrimp and Oyster) and there where vegetarian/ vegan options for vegetarian and vegan people as well as fruit later. We did the tour on the 20th of January 2026.

Day boat trip - Jack is a great guide. He told us a lot of stories about the Cat Ba and Vietnam history. Very interesting. Answered many questions. Always kind and smiling.

Great Tour with Ben from Cat Ba Ventures - Really great experience with Ben our guide, the Cruise was perfectly organized and the group was really nice: not too crowded (we were only 15), no loud music, good lunch... I really loved it

Great Experience - We went on a day cruise with Hang from Cat Ba ventures he was very engaging & kind. He knew good spots to avoid crowds, he was very knowledgeable too. We would recommend going on cruise with Hang.

Worth a day trip - Worth the price, fun time, decent food and lots of activities Hang was a great tour guide friendly and spoke good english. Boat crew also friendly.

Wonderful 1 day tour with Hang & the gang. - If you’ve got as far as considering Cat Ba Ventures for your tour look no further! We did the 1 day tour of the bay with Hang as our guide and couldn’t have been happier. The tour delivered everything promised: a comfortable boat travelling at a leisurely pace, good food options for lunch (vegetarian or meat only/no fish options on request), 2 swims stops (towels provided), kayaking (2 people per kayak with dry bag provided) and a visit to a floating village. For us the kayaking was a particular highlight (we’ve only done it once before so are novices). We hadn’t expected to have such a wonderful secluded spot to ourselves and for us the duration (approx. 1hr 45mins on the water) was just right. I won’t say more, will let you experience the magic of it for yourselves. To top it all off Hang our guide really made the day special, he was high energy but completely authentic. He was a wealth of knowledge about the geology, wildlife and local communities of the area and was also willing to discuss all manner of topics about life in Vietnam, the tourist industry etc. He laid out the itinerary really clearly and also made us aware which drinks were and weren’t included in the price (free water, any extra drinks can be bought onboard). And as if that wasn’t enough he even gave us a magic show on the way back to dock! If you are lucky enough to get Hang as your guide I’m sure you’ll have a great day. So, it’s up to you, either go and spend precious time researching a dozen more companies as we would usually do or book with Cat Ba Ventures (their office staff are lovely and professional). Then sit back and relax and enjoy your day on the bay!

This is the tour you want! - Wow, take this tour! Highly recommend! I was overwhelmed by the options available and decided on Cat Ba Ventures. I am so glad I did. Our tour guide, Hang, was so kind and knowledgeable. He took us swimming and kayaking in beautiful lagoons. We were the ONLY people around! Water and nature everywhere. I couldn’t believe how peaceful, quiet, and relaxing our time was. Hang gave us great information on the history of the area, the names of birds and wildlife, and even a magic trick show in the afternoon. Lunch was very delicious with many options. The surroundings were stunning and I am so glad we made the trip with Hang! Everyone at Moon and Cat Ba was super helpful with scheduling transportation for us from and back to Hanoi. Thank you!
