Nice tour! - Ai (the guide) is very nice and speaks good English. He made us do a really nice and fun alternative trekking. On the second day, given the weather, he organized an alternative tour. He took us to local places and helped manage the water.

Intensive stay in the mountains - Intensive program when time is short. Cozy home stay, just like in the pictures. They have a fire place in front of the house where you can sit in the evening. We really enjoyed the hike through the valley and appreciated the pickup to get directly to Fansipan Mountain the next morning. Highly recommended, even if it is cloudy and foggy. We arrived back in Sapa at lunchtime and visited the local market. Could have stayed longer. The transfer from Hanoi to Sapa was ok, the Vietnamese driving style takes some getting used to. However, we were lucky to be picked up right outside our hotel. Just ask.

This is the tour that caters to your specific needs. - The tour helps us to book the sleeper bus eventho when the flight is delayed and took us 2 hours to get out from the immigration. They have been accomodating with our time. At Sapa, Lala has been very helpful with my elderly mom to hold her hands as we go around. Additionally she follow our adhoc requests.

2days Trip up Fanispan - Nice scenic walk through the villages. Ai was sharp in encouraging us to buy boncho as there was chance of raining, eventually it did rain and we were the least drenched among the groups. Ai was informative and familiar with the routes. Homestay wise it was a bit dirty. Can was dusty and we cleaned it for a better sleeping environment. Food was amazing and you get to test the local delicacies.

Nice trek experience - It was a waste as we were expecting to see nice weather but we had bad rain happen for the first 1-2 hours of the trek. The trek in itself was quite an experience but some good physical traits are needed. Wouldn’t suggest for people who do not have some basic fitness.

Everything went quite smoothly but there were a few hiccups which would have been avoided - I have mixed feelings about this tour. It was well organised, with pick up on time from our hotel, and drop off to the bus for our journey to Sapa. It was a sleeper bus even though we were travelling in the morning, however it was very comfortable and we loved it. Communication with the agency prior to the tour was great, they were really nice. Our guide welcomed us in Sapa. There was no welcome beverage and the lunch wasn't that good. The guide encouraged us to get some drinks, which we did, thinking that it was part of the welcome beverage, but it turned up we had to pay for it. It was a very long walk from the restaurant to the homestay throughout the rice fields, with a lot of mud and risk of slipping. It took about 5 hours, therefore longer than anticipated. There was a woman joining the guide as she was going to the same village as us, and I am glad she was there as she helped us not slipping in the mud, while our guide was constantly on the phone watching videos or making video calls. We were so excited to see the rice terraces. Unfortunately in the beginning there was so much fog, so we couldn't see much or take photos, but then later on the fog disappeared so we stopped for 5 minutes to take photos. We were told off by the guide saying that we had to walk faster as we were late: that really disappointed us as we didn't waste time and I think it's fair to stop for 5 minutes to take photos. The guide didn't give us any info about the local culture, which we were really interested in, and to be honest looked quite annoyed if we asked her questions. We finally got to the homestay, which was very nice, just it was super cold, we were freezing inside the bungalow and also in the main house where dinner was served. We had to put hot water in plastic bottles to warm us up, and we still ended up falling asleep shaking. The breakfast was noodles with an egg, so no other choice but I must admit that it was delicious. The day after, another guide took charge, she was better, more kind and more helpful. It was a challenge to get on top of Fansipan, and not fully worth it as it was all foggy and we couldn't see anything, but still a nice experience. We then had lunch in a much better place than the day before, and were shown were to get the return bus from. We had about an hour to spare and we spent it at the local market. We got back to Hanoi at about 10.30pm. I am still glad we did this tour, even though it didn't meet our expectations fully.
