Amazing experience! thanks to Jam - This was an amazing trip. From the moment I made contact with Bestprice Travel to book this trip their agent JAM NGUYEN went above and beyond any expectations to make sure our experience was as enjoyable, comfortable and hassle free as possible. Jam supported us before departure, during our trip and even afterwards to ensure that it was as positive an experience for us as it could possibly be, even answering our queries late at night outside office hours. The trip itself was run very smoothly, the staff on the transfer and on the ship were very friendly and helpful. The scenery was absolutely AMAZING and the bay was not full of other boats, in fact we saw very few other boats once we were out of the docking area. The service on the boat and the activities were also great. Over all a very unique and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Awesome Lan Ha Cruise! - We loved our overnight cruise on Scarlet Pearl cruise! Friendly staff, very helpful. They coordinated transfer to and from. Helped find connecting rooms for our family. Food was really decent for overnight cruise. Kayak option to the cave was fun. Swim option with bouncy tube was fun for the family and kids. Highly recommend!

Amazing cruise in Halong Bay - We’ve recently returned home from Vietnam, for part of our trip, Anna helped us to book a 3D 2N cruise in Halong Bay. Unfortunately the boat we originally wanted to book wasn’t available for our dates, but Anna recommended a couple of other options and we ended up booking Scarlet Pearl. My husband, myself and our two sons (14 & 12) had a brilliant trip - the Scarlet Pearl was such a lovely boat, the staff and food were exceptional and we loved every minute! Would highly recommend:-) Thanks Anna for all your help.

A lovely cruise! - This cruise was fantastic, the staff were so attentive and friendly. They made us feel very welcome and were great with our children too. The activities were fantastic, we particularly enjoyed the kayaking and swimming in the bay. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to have a bit more time on the ship, as we didn't get on until midday and then were leading at 10:45 the next morning. It would have been nice to have a bit longer to relax and enjoy being on the ship. The ship was clean, nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. The food was excellent, lots of choice for the buffets and the evening meal was delicious. This was a very memorable part of our adventure in Vietnam!

Thank you Ms. Jam Nguyen! - Great company to book through. Ms. Jam Nguyen was my contact and ensured we were very happy. The initial cruise we wanted to book was sold out, but Jam found a great alternative and we had a wonderful time. Jam also sent us all information to make sure we had a smooth trip. I would definitely recommend this company.

Haling Bay - I’ve 2 day cruise- boat needed some refreshing but overall clean. Cabins spacious enough, helpful staff and well prepared meals. Guide kind but limited English and not knowledgeable enough to inform us of history/geological facts etc…

Stunning Scenery, Overtourism Realities – Choose 3D/2N or Don’t Bother - We recently did a 3 days / 2 nights excursion to Ha Long Bay from Hanoi, and while the bay itself is breathtaking, the experience is shaped as much by mass tourism as it is by the natural beauty. Most people opt for the 2D/1N tour, but I’d highly recommend the longer version – here’s why. The Downsides of the Short Tour The 2-day, 1-night option felt more like a race through a checklist than a trip. Dozens of boats (we counted 40+) swarm the same few sights – a cave, a beach – all at the same time. It’s a tourist machine, efficient but overwhelming. Sardine can vibes. You’ll likely walk through a cave with 300 strangers and snap the same selfie from the same viewpoint as everyone else. Why 3D/2N Is Better On Day 2, we got a break from the chaos. We joined a local guide for a visit to his village – including a pearl farm, bike ride, historical homes, a fish foot massage (yes, really), kayaking, and a swim. The schedule was tight but enjoyable, and our group was only about 15 people. Much more relaxing and authentic. Booking Experience Shoutout to Jam Nguyen, who handled everything. From rebooking our cruise, dealing with forgotten luggage, to giving restaurant tips – she was always just a WhatsApp message away. Her service was exceptional. That said, it’s odd that travel agencies and boat brokers don’t have up-to-date info on ship occupancies. We and several others were rebooked last-minute. Frustrating, but well managed in the end. Transfer Our transfer from Hanoi was incredibly comfortable, with the most luxurious bus we’ve seen – complete with an Isofix child seat. When we forgot a bag, the driver personally returned it to our hotel. Five-star service! The Bay Ha Long Bay is stunning, no doubt. But the trash problem is real – floating debris pushed in from the sea. This isn’t the fault of the cruises, but rather a broader environmental issue. Would love to see Vietnam partner with ocean cleanup initiatives to preserve this wonder. The Cruise – Catherine Cruises A larger boat, but with excellent service. Our waitress Luna was amazing, and the heated pool was a big hit with the kids. Pro tip: Ask reception to disable in-room announcements – they start at 7am! Room: We had a spacious 3rd-floor room, moved the king bed and extra bed together for a fun kid play area. Clean, well-maintained, with a great walk-in shower and bathtub. Food: This was the weakest part. The food is about quantity, not quality. Overcooked salmon, dry “tenderloin”, flavorless chicken. For the price of the cruise, the food could (and should) be better. There were only mediocre options for vegetarians available. The Program It’s a tight schedule and totally optional. But again – the popular sights are crowded beyond belief. If I could change one thing, I’d ask the authorities to limit the number of boats, like Machu Picchu limits visitors. That’s how you preserve this place for the future. Would We Do It Again? Yes – but differently. Ha Long Bay is a must-see, especially for first-timers in Vietnam. But I’d happily pay more for a smaller, eco-friendly, higher-quality experience that aims to preserve the bay, not just profit from it.
