- Chua Tran Quoc - The first stop is Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. With a history of over 1500 years, Tran Quoc Pagoda plays a significant role in the development of Vietnam, particularly Hanoi. This is why it attracts thousands of visitors worldwide annually.
- Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum - The next stop is the Ho Chi Minh complex, where visitors can view the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh and explore the garden to see the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is one of Vietnam’s most important constructions, offering a meaningful experience and enhancing knowledge of Vietnamese history. It is a must-visit for first-time travelers to Hanoi due to its cultural and historical significance.
- One Pillar Pagoda - The tour then proceeds to One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, and renowned as the most unique pagoda in the world. One Pillar Pagoda (Chua Mot Cot) is a charming architectural complex in Hanoi, drawing numerous domestic and international tourists.
- Vietnam Museum of Ethnology - The next destination is the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the most recent, largest, and arguably the most fascinating museum in Hanoi and Vietnam. It features both indoor and outdoor sections, with informative indoor exhibitions and engaging outdoor displays and activities. The museum showcases houses modeled after the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities, particularly those from the Northern and Central highlands. If the museum is closed on Mondays, the Vietnamese Women Museum will be visited instead. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, offering unforgettable traditional dishes.
- Temple of Literature & National University - After lunch, the tour continues to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, established in the 11th century. This cultural and historical relic is a place where many students pray for success in their exams and studies. As Vietnam’s first university, the Temple of Literature is a popular cultural and historical site on any Hanoi travel tour. Visitors will be captivated by its grandeur and tranquility, gaining a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s historical development.
- Hoa Lo Prison - The tour concludes with a visit to Hoa Lo Prison, a former prison in Hanoi, also known as Central House or ironically, Hanoi Hilton. Built during the French Empire’s rule over Indochina, it was partially destroyed in 1990 and now serves as a museum. At 4:00 pm, the Hanoi City tour ends, and the bus will return guests to their hotel in the Old Quarter.
