Fascinating Glimpse into a Different Aspect of Vietnam's History - Great trip. This was a fascinating glimpse into the history and contributions of the Vietnamese people. The trip is a lot more heavy on the user participation aspect compared to most trips where you simply travel to historic or scenic sites and take a bunch of pictures. You have the opportunity to learn and create your own art and customize the iconic Vietnamese conical hat. You also learn from the artists that have dedicated their lives in mastering their art. Admittedly the day I went the weather wasn't great. Rachel, our tour guide ensured that everyone still had a great time and received the best experience possible. She is also very knowledgeable on the different forms of art that you will see including working the machinery to create the incense. She also offered to deliver the lacquer piece that i created that had to be completed by the experienced artist the following day after the tour. It was a great trip.

Hat painting and incense village - Great tour, our tour guide Andy was really friendly and shared great knowledge and history about the artisan village and incense village, plus the driver I think his name was Dat was also great manoeuvring carefully on narrow streets when the original route to these areas were closed for some reason. Overall had a great experience and the family were happy. Thanks for a lovely tour hope to be with you again during my next visit!

Easy day trip with amazing guide:) - We had a great day trip and learned a lot about the local crafts from our amazing guide Gene <3 Best English guide we had in Vietnam. The tour is cute, you get to join in for some activities and crafts and you can keep the traditional hat you painted:) great recommendation for an easy day trip to see the authentic country side around Hanoi. Lunch was great too and it is not too commercial and in small groups, which we appreciated.

Hope you see this review. Haha - This was too simple of a tour for me. It took an hour to get to the incense place that was just a set up for pictures for tourism and they said we are here for an hour. So if you are not super into taking pictures of yourself in pretty setting it’s a couple minutes of photos maybe. Then there was about five minutes of explaining making hats and then you can paint one. Just not much to this tour for the money but it did take a long time to do very little. It may be for some people.
