- Chua Tran Quoc - The tour will stop at Tran Quoc Pagoda, situated on a small peninsula on the eastern side of West Lake. Tran Quoc Pagoda is considered the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, with a history spanning over 1,500 years. Its architecture is a harmonious blend of solemnity and beauty, set against the tranquil backdrop of West Lake. Due to its historical and architectural significance, Tran Quoc Pagoda attracts numerous visitors from both Vietnam and abroad.
- Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - The next stop is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi, the final resting place of a national hero. This site is one of Vietnam’s most renowned landmarks, drawing a significant number of domestic and international tourists annually due to its immense cultural and historical importance. The mausoleum is a key historical site in Hanoi, honoring President Ho Chi Minh, the national hero who led Vietnam to independence and reunification.
- One Pillar Pagoda - Also known as Dien Huu Pagoda or Lien Hoa Dai, the One Pillar Pagoda features a unique architectural design with a square structure resting on a stone pillar. This distinctive architecture makes it one of Hanoi’s captivating tourist attractions. The pagoda appears to float above the lake, supported by a system of wooden slats that resemble a lotus flower rising from the water. Construction began in October 1049 (lunar calendar) under King Ly Thai Tong, and in 1106, King Ly Nhan Tong expanded it into a large architectural complex with Linh Chieu Lake and a gilded lotus throne. Inside the lotus throne is a purple shrine with sacred bird imagery on the roof, housing a gilded statue of Buddha Avalokiteshvara.
- Temple of Literature & National University - After a lunch break at a local restaurant featuring traditional Vietnamese dishes, the tour will visit the Temple of Literature & National University, Vietnam’s first national university. This site is among the top historical and scenic attractions in Vietnam’s capital. Established in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong, the complex is dedicated to Confucius and was home to Vietnam’s first university in 1076. The altars are popular with students praying for good grades, and the pagodas, ponds, and gardens of the five courtyards provide picturesque settings for graduation photos. It is also depicted on the 100,000d note.
- Hoa Lo Prison - The tour continues to Hoa Lo Prison, located in the heart of Vietnam’s capital. Known for its harsh conditions and severe punishments, Hoa Lo Prison, also called Maison Centrale, symbolizes the prisoners’ strong will and sacrifice for their communist ideals. Originally built during the French Colonial Era, it housed Vietnamese revolutionaries and political dissidents. The name Hoa Lo, meaning “stove” or “fiery furnace,” originates from a village known for making earthen stoves. The remaining structures have been converted into a museum, and the night tour “Sacred Night - Glorious Vietnamese Spirit” revitalizes its mission to preserve the site’s history.
- Bếp Vua Chả Cá cơ sở 4 - Hanoi Train Street is a unique attraction that has gained popularity in recent years. This narrow street in the city center is lined with houses and cafés, with train tracks running directly through the middle. Visitors can enjoy a drink here while waiting for the train to pass by.
