Once in a lifetime! - Sim was so nice today!! She entertained us with many different fun locations and activities. She bought us desserts as well as fruits! She was very thoughtful when explaining each location. Cung was an amazing driver and was always on time! One amazing place we visited was the Vietnam alleyways where we learned so much about the daily life. The food at the end was immaculate!! The train was wonderful as well!

Taste of Hanoi - Our first attempt at the Jeep tour was cancelled due to torrential rain, but so glad we could reschedule! It was a fantastic way to see all Hanoi has to offer. Our guide, Rocky was engaging, knowledgeable and fun. Train street was my highlight 🙂Highly recommend this tour to give you a taste of Hanoi.

10/10 Jeep tour - Had such a good time on this tour round Hà Nội. Loved that it takes you to “the good, the bad and the weird” parts of the city and you get a very diverse view of everything. Riley was an amazing guide through the whole trip with very good knowledge of the city. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone wanting to experience everything the city has to offer

Amazing Hanoi backstreet tour - The way we saw all the different parts of the town was amazing. Seeing the way that the locals live and learning the history of the town and culture was super interesting. Our guide Rylee was very informative and also very friendly which made it very fun as well. Ending in the hidden gem cafe was a great way to end the tour and the food was super yummy.

WILL NOT BE BETTERED! - I booked the tour directly with Hanoi Backstreet Tours, everything went without a hitch. We were picked up at the hotel at the specified time and that was the beginning of a very special day. We booked a private tour, we knew we would be jetlagged, and we thought it would be better if we just had the tour on our own. Our driver was Mr Ocean (who we christened Danny, if you know, you know!) and our tour guide was Tim. If you know Hanoi, to drive there is like driving backwards round the Périphérique in Paris with a touch of the Italian or Maltese road skills thrown in. That being said Danny Ocean was as cool as Mr. Clooney behind the wheel, we never felt the least bit anxious through the whole day. Superb driving skills. Young Tim was a star, nothing more nothing less! Full of knowledge, full of fun and he kept an eye on us two oldies, especially when we walked across the roads! He spent time explaining several (really interesting) facts about Hanoi and was happy to answer any questions we had. We went to Train street and sat trackside drinking coffee as a train came by, it’s the best laxative I’ve ever had! We had lunch at the Hidden Gem Cafe, the food was amazing, the cafe lives up to its name. Tim walked us through each course and left us together to eat at a table he’d reserved, it was very special. Tim guided us through an old area frequented by locals and bought us a piece of wedding cake each, he explained the historical meaning of this and if we’d have received cake at school I’d have paid more attention in my history lessons. At nearly 70, I’ve seen a bit and done a bit but nothing prepared me for Hanoi, it’s an assault on the senses but in a really, really good way! The choice we made to use this company was one of my better decisions during our travels. We have another tour booked with them later in the week and we can’t wait! We’ve had a brilliant day in an amazing city, looked after by two outstanding individuals, Mr. Ocean, who could drive Miss. Daisy and young Tim, who worked so hard to make our day a special one filled with memories and boy, did he succeed!! Thank you Hanoi Backstreet Tours, thank you Danny Ocean and a big, big thank you to Tim. Top man! Get this tour booked, you will not be disappointed!

Interesting glimpse of life in Hanoi - Tour of points of interest, lesser seen sites and back alleys of Hanoi. Funky places to grab coffee and eat. Very enjoyable and unique experience. Anni was well informed and made our time together if fun.

Unique experience! - We had an excellent experience on our tour. Fred was our guide and they were brilliant. Fred was so passionate about the city of Hanoi and the different quarters. We learned about the administrative quarter, old quarter, and the train street, as well as about the US/Vietnam war, French influence and local culture. The highlight was visiting a local man’s house where he played his instruments for us and described his experience of when he fought in the war. It was an incredibly authentic experience. The lunch was also absolutely delicious and so fresh. We would absolutely recommend this tour! Fred’s English is also perfect which made learning about the city and history so much easier and enjoyable. Dragon was a great driver in the truck also!

Good way to get your bearings in Hanoi - This was a good way to see a little bit of Hanoi if it's your first time in the city. Our guide was Fred with Mr Dat doing the driving around the traffic-filled streets. Fred's English is excellent and her passion for her country is evident by the running commentary she gave and the answers to our questions. It is a driving tour so you do pass by the major attractions and the tour could be enhanced by stopping to take in the view of say the Opera House, Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum etc. The lunch at Hidden Gem was very good as was the stop at Train Street. The session at the small house of "Uncle" was a bit too contrived and performative for our liking. Top tip: wrap up warm if you're visiting at this time of the year as it's cold and you're out in the open for most of the tour.
