Great selection of Vietnamese cuisine - We were a small group which meant the guide could spend more time with each of us, explaining the different food we were eating. There was a great variety of food which we wouldn't have known had we not gone on the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The 'happy water' and the Hanoi beer on Train Street rounded off the experience. It was a fun night!

A good way to spend a night in hanoi - Apple was the best. So bubbly and so amazing. She taught us so much about vietnam and the city. And of course she taught us all about food (which was of course super tasty)

Must do! - Our guide Elena was amazing. She selected places that were genuine and quality experiences. She spoke wonderful English and made great company throughout the morning. Diverse and delicious food options, absolutely worth the price twice over. I’d recommend doing the early time over an afternoon, that way you can start your day early to enjoy the rest of what Hanoi has to offer.

Mia was amazing and even managed a vegetarian family without skipping a beat - Had a great time with Mia. I was impressed how she managed being an Indian strict vegetarian family on the tour. After confirming that they needed to avoid even fish sauce and eggs, without skipping a beat, she asked every restaurant on the tour to present a vegetarian alternative, with tofu and soy sauce. It was fun getting not just the mini-lecture, but how each dish is taken by actual Hanoi residents. These rice rolls are a treat for breakfast, egg coffee is a Sunday treat for when you are not rushing in the morning, this is my personal banh mi order. The reality is you don't need a guide for a walking food tour in Hanoi Old Quarter because the restaurants and the market are close to each other and even asking ChatGPT as you walk can take you through the basic dishes. But it was a fun evening and I appreciated paying the premium for a guide this time. I just suggest that the company clarify which tour includes Train Street, as all of us on the tour signed up for the basic one but had been hoping to end at Train Street, which is about 2 km away from where we ended near Beer Street.

Food tour! - We had a private tour because there were no other participants. It was a super fun tour with our cheerful guide Elena through the old center of Hanoi. We sat at several restaurants and ate things we have never tasted before! With a full belly we ended the tour at train street, where we could wait for the train while enjoying a cold drink.

Disappointing - I did a food tour 10 years ago in Vietnam and had the most fabulous food, so I was keen to do it again, however I found it pretty disappointing. We were in a smallish group of 8 and Zoe our guide was nice and informative. However the food was pretty basic and you only get to eat very safe and common foods (banh mi, Phô, egg coffee..) , most places were small restaurants where the only customers were tourists with a guide. While we had a pleasant time altogether, there was nothing really special or that we wouldnt have done by ourselves in our 2 days in Hanoi.
