In 1993, the DPC in Mai Chau proposed to Hoa Binh province to allow tourists to stay overnight in the village. Since then, Lac Village has become a renowned “bright spot” on Vietnam’s tourist map.

From weaving scarves and brocade dresses to creating wearable art, the women in the village craft a variety of souvenirs for tourists, including scarves, skirts, and charming wallets. Visitors to Lac Village can savor bamboo-cooked rice and immerse themselves in the villagers’ daily lives. The ethnic people are gentle and friendly. In the afternoon, the valley is beautifully illuminated by the sun’s rays. Lac villagers will roast meat and prepare a pot of bitter bamboo for tourists, who can enjoy traditional dishes while listening to the thrilling sounds of gongs.
