For your Hanoi fist day - You must empty your stomach just before this tour. We visited 5 local popular spots and enjoy local foods , drinks and desert. Those places are for local, not for tourists. At the train street,we had a VIP seat at the restaurant seeing the train passing right in front , because our guide Mr Max from Hanoi knows this restaurant owner personally. He took us to those restaurants and gave us wonderful opportunities which we can never get from any travel informations. Highly recomended !

Must do!! Max was incredible!! - Max could not have been a more perfect guide!! From the second we started the tour, Max was beyond thrilled to meet and get to know everyone, and so eager to show us his culture. The spots he led us to were so authentic, and truly allowed us all to appreciate genuine traditional Vietnamese delicacies. Max is AMAZING and I could not recommend this tour enough!!

Foodie tour but so much more. - Jenny, the guide, took us to various restaurants run by families that have been in the old quarter of Hanoi for a long time. These are places you would not necessarily go to if you had not been recommended. We had a variety of food, drinks and were really looked after. Jenny is a font of knowledge and very amenable, answering any questions we had about food, drinks, Vietnam and the language etc etc.plus guiding us around the area even across the centre of a busy traffic junctions with cars and scooters everywhere at one point!! Reall fun experience. It really helped we had a great group of people on the tour. It’s a great tour, relaxed, great food and a wonderful way to spend an evening. Do it, you’ll not regret it. I’ll be back to do another one of her tours at some point.

Best Food Tour one could hope for. - When you go on a food tour you want to eat what the locals eat. You want to see hidden spots of mind blowing great food, and yoy want to be shown by someone who truly has lived it. Jenny (a Hanoi local) did a fantastic job at showing us around where the locals eat. If you are considering exploring the food of Hanoi through the eyes of a local, DEFINITELY book this tour. Don’t hesitate, just got for it. Jenny took us to places where locals treated us in a very special way because we were with her, and that made it 100x more special. We also got to meet some lovely travellers as well, and they were so great to hang out witj! Thanks Jenny for such a lovely experience!

This is the street food walking tour you’re looking for… - I love a street food walking tour and this one arranged through our hotel did not disappoint. Our local guide Jenny, is a true foodie and showed us her favourite eating places around Hanoi’s Old Quarter. I loved every dish I tried, but standouts for me were the Bún chả: Vietnamese grilled pork with rice noodles and Nem nướng: Vietnamese summer rolls. I also tried the best egg coffee that I have ever had! Serving sizes were generous and our group were unable to finish all the delicious food on offer. Jenny is enthusiastic about her culture and knowledgeable about the ingredients, preparation and regional variations of all the dishes. As a vegetarian herself, she made sure that the vegetarians in the group were well catered for with options available for each dish. This really was a fun evening , and Jenny’s quick wit and great sense of humour made it all the more enjoyable.

5 Star Experience - Would totally recommend this tour. Only wish we had done it on our first night in Hanoi. We had Jenny take us to 4 separate places and got to try 7 different delicious dishes. Couldn’t have asked for more food! Jenny is so knowledgeable about Hanoi food and culture, and is passionate about sharing that knowledge, we learned so much. She also has a great sense of humour, we had lots of laughs along the way. Completely a 5 out of 5 star experience!

Good food, good tour guide! - Great way to explore the Hanoi food scene, all the foods were just delicious, and Jenny our tour guide did an excellent job explaining what foods we were getting how to combine it or not! There is a set menu but Jenny did offer to tailor the tour in case there was something we wanted to try, so if you are curious about a dish do let her now. We did this tour at the end of our Hanoi stay, it was still a very good experience - as it allowed us to compare to things we’d already tried, but I would recommend you do this tour at the start of your trip!

Street food at family run restaurants - If you are interested in the local cuisine this is an amazing opportunity to try different dishes and visit local family run businesses. We had a lot of different food on our route and our guide (Jenny) was very informative, friendly and enthusiastic about the local dishes and the families making them. We are much more keen to try these dishes and others on our own after the tour. I highly recommend this for all small group traveling.
