Setting Sail in Hauganes

Our family has always been drawn to the allure of the sea, and the promise of witnessing majestic humpback whales in their natural habitat was an opportunity we couldn’t resist. As we arrived in the quaint fishing village of Hauganes, the crisp Icelandic air filled our lungs, and the anticipation of the adventure ahead was palpable. We were greeted by Garðar, one of the owners of the whale watching company, whose warmth and enthusiasm set the tone for the day. On our return journey, we were delighted by the sight of playful dolphins, their acrobatics a joyful finale to our day at sea. Back on land, Aðalsteinn took us on a brief tour of the local Cod Fabric, where we sampled smoked shark—a unique taste of Icelandic culture.
