Do it! - Exhilarating and beautiful. Professional operator. Rune was an AWESOME Captain! I’m 62 with mild sciatica and it was no problem. Small back rests, but shorter people may have no choice but to bounce on the seats with the waves. Taller people can stand and take the bounces w/knees and not hit their tailbones. I’d definitely do this again — unique experience.

What an exillerating ride - This was my first time on a rib safari. I was a little apprehensive. But I absolutely loved it. The guys were so knowledgeable about the little islands and made the whole experience such fun. Fast slow turning stopping will definitely recommend them was super amazing.

Rib ride Haugesund- epic - Very hospitable team guided us to the local shop from the cruise ship docking. Waterproof overall clothing which was very comfortable and warm! Goggles too. Drove the rib with consideration but at speed. Thrilling experience.

Fabulous Adventure in Haugesund - It was a great experience. After disembarking from cruise terminal Viking Adventure had a stand and it was easy to find meeting location. After a short walk, we came to the building to suit up and get on the RIB. The ride itself was great, went fast in open water but slowed down when we got to the islands. Truly incredible to see how the people on the island live. The staff were friendly, prompt, and truly professional. A must do in Haugesund. So glad we chose this option.

Fun ride, buckle up! - Nice scenery and interesting experience and fun boat ride but limited local information or descriptions provided by the guide which was a little disappointing.

Beautiful scenery, but overly aggressive and rushed ride with little personal touch - We’ve done RIB boat tours before—including a truly memorable one in Greenland weaving among icebergs—so we had a good idea of what to expect: speed, excitement, and great views. Unfortunately, this tour in Haugesund leaned way too far into the “speed” aspect and lost sight of comfort, interaction, and the scenic experience. Once we were suited up, we waited about 10 minutes standing on the dock for the previous group to return, and when our tour ended, the next group was already lined up waiting for us. It was clear this was a tight, commercial back-to-back operation, focused on maintaining a strict schedule. There was no breathing room to adjust for weather, water conditions, or guest comfort—it was very much an “in-and-out” experience. The guide drove the boat at full speed nearly the entire time that there wasn’t a speed restriction. While we were told to plant our feet and absorb the impact through our legs, the ride still involved constant, hard slamming into the seats, and by the end, our backs and tailbones were sore. We were told that if we had any issue to just raise a hand high and they’d stop and address any issue and I raised my hand multiple times—just as instructed—to request a slower pace, but it took several attempts before the boat slowed down enough to even be acknowledged. When I finally did make the request, the guide seemed genuinely confused as to why anyone would want to go slower. We were also supposed to receive gloves, but they were never handed out, and my hands were uncomfortably cold for the duration of the ride. The route itself passed gorgeous scenery, including a close pass by our cruise ship and a loop through parts of a few villages—but unfortunately, there were no stops for photos or to take in the surroundings. It felt like a missed opportunity and made the trip feel more like a checklist than a guided tour. We weren’t the only ones who felt this way—others on our boat also commented that this was far more intense than RIB tours they’d done in other parts of the world. To be clear, the idea of the tour is great, and the scenery is undeniably beautiful. But the execution was too rigid, impersonal, and physically uncomfortable to make it an enjoyable experience for us. If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush and don’t mind sacrificing comfort or photo opportunities, this may still appeal to you. Otherwise, I’d recommend a more balanced, slower-paced RIB experience elsewhere.
