Golfing fun! - We love to play golf, so of course we are going to play if given the opportunity in Alaska! This is definitely not your typical course, it’s only 9 holes and a little rugged…however, that’s what made it fun! Definitely can’t take this course too seriously, it had a lot of “character “! We had a blast! Met a native out there playing and we saw a moose and her calves! Misha picked us up at the lodge and she took care of us the entire time! She was great!!They gave us balls, golf towels, tees and ball markers! They had a full bar and food. The clubs are what you would expect, but we didn’t care, just the fact we could play was all that mattered!

So much fun golfing - The golf course was so much fun. We rented clubs at the course and the staff was very helpful. They picked us up at the Denali Cabins. We at dinner in the clubhouse and it was very good.

Interesting golf course with great views - Golf was for sure an after thought to add when 2 open fields were left over after all the other activities were established. Check in was easy and i appreciated the nice souvenir of a golf ball and towel. The carts were in good shape. Seats are cracked, so wear water proof pants if it has been raining or your booty will be wet. Golf clubs are provided, which I appreciated, but they are all very low cost, basic starter brands, which is ok, I just don’t want you surprised, set expectations. Look at your clubs before leaving the club shack, I almost drove off without a putter. Men’s blue tee box is outside the door of the shack, white and reds are around the shack at the bottom of the hill. Wind is an influencer, so aim with this in mind. Watch your ball until the end, as the grass (beautiful green) is deep in places. After hole number 2, the path is confusing to hole 3. Once there, easy to follow as you are now in a field that just goes back and forth until hole 6. Drive up the path on hole 6 to see where you are going. It’s a strong dog leg left. Avoid hitting into any of the grass islands on the course, that grass is deep, and seriously needs to be mowed down. It serves no good purpose. The rules of golf on this course needs to be set aside on this course, you need to focus on the views, the beautiful green grass, the fun of hitting balls that the wind controls, and the fact you are playing in one of the most northern courses. We did have a good time, but set your expectations appropriately. We paid over 100$ each, I really think 50-65 each wd have been more appropriate. We brought extra golf balls from home, glad we did because they are easily lost with the wind. We did book this event with the ATV with dining. HIGHLY recommend that. Got 10% off for booking 2 items (you have to book both at same time and on their website, can’t get that discount on TripAdvisor. The team of folks there are great fun.

Fun place to golf while visiting Denali - We ate dinner and then played a round of golf. Service was great. Shuttle service to and from our hotel was prompt and friendly. Food was pretty average. As advertised, the golf course is a tundra course with indistinct greens and bumpy terrain, but fairways are nicely mowed. Great place to have fun golfing while visiting Denali, but don't expect a pristine course.

Disappointing but an experience! - We played 9 holes. We couldn't find our way around the course. Never did find the 6th hole tee off.. Couldn't figure out where the greens were. The fairways were nonexistent,Disappointing worse than rough, full of troughs and holes. The greens were full of weeds and stones. The idea of golfing under the midnight sun was appealing but the golfing experience was extremely disappointing. On the other hand, the food and service in the dining room was excellent.

Don’t spend your money at Black diamond golf course! - This golf course is a joke. Provided clubs must’ve been 30 years old. The golf cart could barely move. The course itself was filled with potholes and the greens were not discernible. This is a beautiful area to visit. Spend your money elsewhere!

Denali golf course was awful! - This was on the recommended tours offered by Princess cruise lines, shame on them! It was terrible. And dangerous. Rental clubs were a mish-mash, you had to try put a complete set together yourself, cart was a junker, fairways were ungroomed and you couldn't differentiate the "greens" from the so called fairway. Several of the fairways ran adjacent to each other with opposing tee boxes so the group in front was hitting almost straight at us. As their lovely brochure pictures show ... the views were great, but all views in Alaska are great. Avoid wasting your time and money on this course.

Not Real Golf - Golf? If you just have to say you played golf in Alaska and you’re willing to waste $100+, I say go for it. However, don’t expect a real golf course. 9 holes of bump and grind in the cow pasture - including greens.

Misleading to say the least! - Whether you are an avid golfer or a first timer DO NOT book a golf experience at this poor excuse for a golf course! If the price were reasonable this would be an experience to be talked about and enjoyed, as it was almost $100 apiece for my wife and I I feel like were robbed! Even at the worst courses in the lower 48 I could always differentiate from the fairway to the green not here.
We booked our outing from the excursion desk at the Princess Denali Lodge based on the pictures in their excursion book and after the fact they should be sued for false advertising. From the time we got off the transportation (free) I felt like we had been transported to a back country farm. As usual it was misting rain and the dirt area around all Black Diamond buildings was muddy and puddle ridden. Since we had already paid by credit card prior to arriving (required at excursion desk) we felt we had no alternative but make the best of it.
To say this was like playing golf in a cow pasture would be insulting to cow pastures everywhere! This is a 9 hole course but so poorly marked we could only find 8. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY BOOKING THIS EXCURSION!
