Discover Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Memphis
Pyramids of Giza - These are not only the top attractions in Egypt but are also considered the most remarkable ancient monuments to see in a lifetime. The Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx are arguably the most renowned ancient sites globally and the only remaining wonders of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World. A visit to Egypt is incomplete without seeing the Pyramids of Giza. Even if you have visited Egypt multiple times, the Pyramids and the Sphinx at the base of the Giza plateau are iconic images of Egypt. Don’t forget to capture a photo in front of the Pyramids and Sphinx.
Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The most prominent feature of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid, the tomb of the Third Dynasty ruler Djoser or Zoser, constructed by Imhotep. It is believed to be the earliest major stone structure built in Egypt. The pyramid’s form is an evolution of the large mastabas (mud-brick tombs) of the First and Second Dynasties, with six steps, each smaller than the one below, created by adding successive new layers of masonry and enlarging the lower stages.
The Step Pyramid stands 60 meters high and is made of locally quarried clay sandstone of poor quality. Entry into the pyramid is no longer allowed due to safety concerns. The interior chambers and passages were partly used for the burial of the King’s close relatives (particularly his sons who died in childhood) and partly for storing grave goods for the deceased’s use.
Mit Rahina Museum - Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are located near the town of Mit Rahina.
Cairo and Giza Sightseeing - Visit GEM & Old Cairo
Grand Egyptian Museum - The Grand Egyptian Museum, situated just steps from the Pyramids of Giza, is one of the largest and most impressive archaeological museums worldwide. It features over 100,000 artifacts spanning Egypt’s history from prehistoric times to the Greco-Roman era.
The museum’s highlight is the complete collection of Tutankhamun, displayed together for the first time. Visitors can also admire colossal statues, royal mummies, intricate jewelry, and beautifully carved reliefs. The modern architecture, glass façade, and Grand Staircase create a stunning setting with panoramic pyramid views.
Coptic Cairo - Coptic Cairo is a part of Old Cairo that includes the Babylon Fortress, the Coptic Museum, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George, and many other Coptic churches and historical sites.
Khan Al-Khalili - Khan el-Khalili is a major souk in the historic center of Islamic Cairo. The bazaar district is a main attraction for both tourists and Egyptians.
Nile Cruise From Aswan - Visit Philae Temple
Temple of Philae - On this day, there are opportunities for optional tours to Abu Simbel and the Nubian village upon request. Enjoy the Philae Temple, one of Nubia’s most significant monument sites. Located 12 kilometers south of Aswan, the Temples of Philae were an ancient pilgrimage center for the cult of Isis and have captivated travelers for centuries. This sacred site was revered from the Pharaonic era to the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods, with each ruler leaving their mark on the stones. Saved from submersion by UNESCO’s rescue project, which relocated the monuments block by block from Philae Island to Agilika Island, the temples continue to enchant all who visit.
Visit the Temples of The Nile - Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples
Temple of Kom Ombo - The Temple of Kom Ombo is a unique double temple in the town of Kom Ombo in Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt. It was built during the Ptolemaic dynasty, 180–47 BC. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world, along with Hathor and Khonsu.
Temple of Horus - This Ptolemaic temple, constructed between 237 and 57 BC, is one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in Egypt. Preserved by desert sand, which filled the site after the pagan cult was banned, the temple is dedicated to Horus, the avenging son of Isis and Osiris. With its roof intact, it is also one of the most atmospheric ancient buildings.
Visit Luxor Treasures - Karnak and Luxor Temple with Valley of the Kings & More
Temple of Karnak - Karnak Temple is a vast temple complex in Luxor dedicated primarily to Amun, dating from as early as 2000 BC. It is an impressive sight, second only to the Great Pyramids in popularity.
Luxor Temple - Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city now known as Luxor, constructed around 1400 BCE. In the Egyptian language, it is known as Ipet Resyt, “the southern sanctuary.”
Valley of the Kings - The Valley of the Kings, also known as the Valley of the Gates of the Kings, is a valley in Egypt. It is located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes, within the heart of the Theban Necropolis. The wadi consists of two valleys, East Valley and West Valley.
Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned in Egypt during the 18th Dynasty. For the past 3,400 years, they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, located west of the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor.
