Pyramids of Giza - These are not only the top attractions in Egypt but are also considered the most remarkable ancient monuments to see in a lifetime. The Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx are arguably the most renowned ancient sites globally and the only remaining wonders of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World. A visit to Egypt is incomplete without seeing the Pyramids of Giza. Even if you have visited Egypt multiple times, the Pyramids and the Sphinx at the base of the Giza plateau are iconic images of Egypt. Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The most prominent feature of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid, the tomb of the Third Dynasty ruler Djoser or Zoser, constructed by Imhotep. It is believed to be the earliest major stone structure built in Egypt. The pyramid’s form is an evolution of the large mastabas (mud-brick tombs) of the First and Second Dynasties, with six steps, each smaller than the one below, created by adding successive new layers of masonry and enlarging the lower stages.

The Step Pyramid stands 60 meters high and is made of locally quarried clay sandstone of poor quality. Entry into the pyramid is no longer allowed due to safety concerns. The interior chambers and passages were partly used for the burial of the King’s close relatives (particularly his sons who died in childhood) and partly for storing grave goods for the deceased’s use.

Mit Rahina Museum - Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are located near the town of Mit Rahina.

Temple of Kom Ombo - The Temple of Kom Ombo is a unique double temple in the town of Kom Ombo in Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt. It was built during the Ptolemaic dynasty, 180–47 BC. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world, along with Hathor and Khonsu.

Temple of Horus - This Ptolemaic temple, constructed between 237 and 57 BC, is one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in Egypt. Preserved by desert sand, which filled the site after the pagan cult was banned, the temple is dedicated to Horus, the avenging son of Isis and Osiris. With its roof intact, it is also one of the most atmospheric ancient buildings.
