Ancient Roman Theater, Alexandria - The Roman Amphitheatre is one of Alexandria’s most popular monuments. As Egypt’s second most important city after Cairo, Alexandria boasts this unique Roman Amphitheatre, the only one of its kind in Egypt, despite the presence of similar structures across Europe and the Middle East.

Pompey’s Pillar - Known as “Pompey’s Pillar,” this is the largest memorial column in Egypt. It is a massive red granite column, standing about 28 meters tall with a base diameter of 2.7 meters. An inscription in Greek on the upper western side reads: “to the most just Emperor, tutelary of Alexandria Diocletian, the invincible, Postumus, the Prefect of Egypt (who erected this monument).”

Lighthouse of Alexandria - Originally the site of the Pharos Lighthouse, the Citadel of Qaitbay is a 15th-century defensive fortress on the Mediterranean coast in Alexandria, Egypt. Built between 1477 and 1479 AD by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qa’it Bay, the Citadel is located on the eastern side of the northern tip of Pharos Island at the mouth of the Eastern Harbour.
