Learned so much - We had a fantastic tour today. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgable. His family has been in the area for centuries. Besides the history he had lots of folklore stories. He kept us fully engaged. Would definitely recommend.

Great for a Stop While Passing through or Staying in the Area - Excellent and knowledgeable guide describing the known and speculated history of the manmade caves in the area. Well-lit as you go deep inside the caves. Guide stays as long as you want for questions and discussion. Delicious food and beverages available on a converted American school bus in the car park. Don't miss this stop!

Easy access, ancient to modern use - Ideally situated directly on Route 1 is this gem of a tour. Stefan is fun to learn from, knowledgeable, dry and wry. A glimpse from ancient to modern uses of these highly functional and unique spaces made by humans to thrive on this isolated and awe-striking environment. Leave no trace inside but make your mark at the welcome hut.

Well worth the drive out... - Well worth the drive out from Rekyavik. Even better if you're driving the golden circle and book this just before you head out to the first stop. Bundle up because it's super chilly out at this site.

Last-minute decision but enjoyed every second of it! - It's an amazing and interesting place! Our guide, Stefan was very knowledgeable and funny! It was a last-minute decision we made to go to the caves of Hella, after we got stood up at at stable in Hella but we don't regret it! If you're in the neighbourhood and you have the time, go there!

Lovely uplifun - Excellent uplifun í all staði. Leiðsögumaðurinn Stefán Smári was both fróðlegur and sagði skemmtilega fra. Áhugavert að heyra um keltnesku munkana sem sigldu to Íslands and buildðu hellana. Mæli með að koma við á Hellu and fara í skoðun.

Really worth a visit - Really a good experience, with an extremely dedicated tour / guide ... so many and funny anecdotes, mixed with stories from the harsh and beautiful Iceland, where you get insight into the history of the country and the forces of nature... will definitely recommend a visit to the place, so the best recommendations from here

Deep down and dirty, but enough about Stefán ;-) - Booked (rainy) day of, with a group of 3. Plenty of parking. The lady, who checked us in, was so polite and welcoming; she offered us a taste of Iceland. Our guide, Stefán, was friendly and funny! Our best informative tour guide and stand-up comedy show in one. Caveat: an older lady in our group left early... She wasn't Viking enough to appreciate the historical wonders of Hella. She was our offering to the elves. Highly recommend this activity to support local, family owned businesses. PS Stefán, where are the bodies of our Celtic brethren?!

Fun and informative - This was a really fun tour—our guide provided a ton of information about the caves, how they tie into the history of not only Iceland but also Ireland, and more. We were really glad we stopped, and definitely recommend it! Just be sure to dress warm, as the caves are quite cool.

don’t go on this. - Would not sign up for this. Really disappointed. Would love a refund. Super slow and draining. Not engaging. Overly long. Not warm or welcoming. We left early even. Not sure how I found this to book even- the reviews seemed engaging. But very disappointed.
