Reykjavik - Be ready for an exciting day as your guide picks you up between 8:30 and 9:00 AM!
Hvalfjörður - Enjoy a picturesque drive along the Whale Fjord before arriving at the first destination.
Borgarnes - After a scenic journey, the bus pauses for a brief stop in the charming town of Borgarnes, situated on a small peninsula.
Ytri Tunga Beach - A short drive from Borgarnes unveils the true enchantment of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Ytri Tunga is a delightful farm with a nearby beach that is home to a seal colony, making it an ideal spot for animal enthusiasts!
Budakirkja - The Búðakirkjan Black Church is often regarded as the most beautiful church in Iceland.
Arnarstapi - This natural harbor is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. The coastline is adorned with stunning rock formations, covered in green-and-yellow moss. Visitors can stroll along the cliffs, capture perfect photos, or simply soak in the atmosphere of this remote fishing village.
Londrangar Basalt Cliffs - Here, two basalt columns mark the coast and are visible from the road. This is another excellent stop for animal lovers, as the cliffs are home to many bird species, filling the air with their songs.
Djupalonssandur Beach - This beautiful black beach is located within the boundaries of Snæfellsjökull National Park. While walking along the black sand, visitors can discover four large lifting stones, historically used to test the strength of fishermen who once lived in the area.
Snaefellsjokull National Park - To reach the northern part of the peninsula, the tour takes you around the Snæfellsjökull Stratovolcano, one of Iceland’s most powerful (though currently inactive) volcanoes, topped with a glacier cap.
Kirkjufell Mountain - Kirkjufell (Church Mountain), along with Kirkjufoss (Church Waterfall), is one of Iceland’s most iconic and picturesque locations. It gained international fame after being featured in numerous Hollywood and TV productions, including “Game of Thrones.”
Borgarnes - The day concludes in Borgarnes, the capital of West Iceland, located on a small peninsula in the City Fjord. It is renowned for its Saga Exhibition and breathtaking views of mountains rising above the sea. During the Northern Lights season, it is an ideal place to witness this natural wonder.
Silver Circle and Lava Caving
Hraunfossar - Next, marvel at the magnificent Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets streaming over approximately 900 meters (almost 300 feet) across the Hallmundarhraun lava field. These waterfalls flow from an eruption of one of the volcanoes beneath the Langjökull glacier, pouring into the Hvítá River from ledges created by less porous rock in the lava.
Barnafoss - Just a stone’s throw upstream from Hraunfossar, visit another waterfall called Barnafoss. Its name, “the waterfall of the children,” originates from a tragic accident that occurred here in a previous century. A natural stone bridge once spanned the waterfall, and two children from a nearby farm tragically fell to their deaths while crossing it. In her grief, their mother had the bridge destroyed.
Deildartunguhver - Finally, experience the sights at Deildartunguhver, the highest-flow hot spring in Europe.
Sturlureykir Horses/Visiting Horse Farm - Enjoy an unforgettable visit to the Sturlureykir Icelandic horse farm. Get up close to these beautiful, friendly animals and savor some homemade “hot spring bread,” known as rugbraud in Icelandic, accompanied by a nice cup of coffee or ice-cold water.
