A wonderful tour! - We were six people total in the group, and the experience was amazing! Niko was a wonderful guide who was not only courteous and kind but also shared informative fun facts throughout our journey. The views were spectacular and the food at the restaurant we stopped at was delicious! Our tea/coffee stop in the village of Krasi was a special gem (the mountain tea was simply divine!). The visit to the Palace of Knossos was great as well. I completely recommend this tour :)

Fun trip through the mountains with Niko. - Beautiful visit in the hills of Crete. We visited a place where they made olive oil. We sampled the different kinds that they made. We also sampled some Greek wine. We had a wonderful lunch in the mountains. The best part of the trip was our guide Niko. Was very informative on the history of the island. We also visited some Greek ruins .

A brilliant way to see parts of Crete we would never have known about - We were picked up from our hotel by Nico who was very welcoming and just an all round friendly person. The minibus was clean, comfy, and air conditioned - and also on time! A very good start to the trip. The tour itself would have been great just for the views as we climbed higher up the hills and mountains but Nico's knowledge of the area, and the local people, really made it for us. All between stops and points of interest, Nico pointed out the different crops and wildlife we could see - we made a pitstop to buy some freshly picked strawberries which were delicious. Our favourite stop was in Krasi, where we had mountain tea with thyme honey and walked around the incredibly picturesque village - stopping to see a giant 1500-year old maple tree along the way. Special food mention to the goat in tomato sauce we had at Restaurant Tzanakis Michael - so tender it fell off the bone! (although we forgot to take a photo) A great day and a brilliant way to see parts of Crete we very likely would never have known about.

Treated like honoured guests rather than tourists - We booked a small group tour but it turned out that there was only 1 other couple with us so it felt like we were guests of our driver and guide Marinos rather than tourists. He was very relaxed, friendly and knowleageable about his island and took the opportunity to introduce us not only to some of the plants and animals of the island, but also it's proud hard working people from the elderly lady in the village cafe who gave us tea, to the guys at the olive press and the family run restaurant offering us delicious roast goat in their homemade tomato sauce. Well worth the money, it provided lots of memories, and a very personal introduction to the island. If anything the palace of Knossos was a bit disappointing, but you have to see the vandalism carried out in the name of archeology by a Brit! Thanks once again Marinos for a memorable day.

Get to know the real Crete - We travelled with 1 other couple and it felt like we were guests rather than strangers. Wherever we went we were warmly welcomed and our driver knew many of the people and showed us the real Crete including small details about the plants and animals of the island. Even a trip to the olive oil producers was so relaxed and interesting with none of the usual feeling that you were being dragged round local producers to get more money out of you. 7 hours flew by. The best tour of this kind I have been on ( and I've done plenty!)

Don’t think. Book it. - This was an outstanding tour. Marinos was knowledgeable and knew all the local people having been born on Crete. He got fresh bananas and stopped to pick fresh strawberries. We met his family and toured an olive oil factory. Coffee in a quaint taverna and lunch in a spectacular restaurant. Stopped at a yogurt maker and sampled it with lunch. The best tour by far on our 3 week trip.
