Exciting, fun and educational tour with mates. - I'm a Melbournian with (at the time) no background knowledge of Cairns, and on a trip with Darren and some mates I had a blast diving into some of the history of the place (deeply involving neighbouring Herberton) and seeing the sights. What stuck out to me was the genuine sense of love the people we met had for the town and their contribution to it. Personally, nerding out over minerals with the people at the tin mine museum, bugs and volcanoes at the info centre and having an amazing coffee and carrot cake at the crêperie were great highlights for me, and that's just the surface! 10/10, would recommend. My trip to Cairns wouldn't have been the same without Darren's tour.

Well worth the drive! - Amazing place with lots to see & do, something to see for everyone. It takes you a step back into Aussie history, if you're lucky enough you can be there to see damper made the old fashion way & try some with butter, syrup & a fresh mug of billy tea made over an open camp fire!.

Must try both the tea house scones and cuppa and also the bush camp lunch, we were licky enough to have a great stew the day qe qere there. Great coveraations with all that worked there. Great tours Port Douglas and Cairns - We met up with Darrin from our cruise ship in Port Douglas and Cairns where he took us on 2 days of tours. We visited some amazing places. Was a great 2 days! Darrin was so knowledgeable about the areas and was a great guide, even with the Dad jokes 😃

One of the best historic villages I have had the pleasure of visiting - This privately owned and run historic village is a credit to those involved, just ensure to allow enough time to do it justice. The entry fee is not cheap, but it does allow entry for three days and is therefore great value for history buffs. We drove out from Cairns for the day, but for another visit we would stay locally and go back on a daily basis rather than run ourselves ragged in one day. A bit of something for everyone.

Step back in time - It was the most visually interesting step back in time, the artifacts, the massive area filled with so much history and preserved so well. It’s worth visit for all ages.

Lots of memories. - You need to allow a few hours to properly look around. A fantastic effort has been put into the village, and we loved it. So much to check out and reminisce. You need to allow a couple of hours. Lunch was good. A great half day.
