• Vatnajokull - Experience the serene beauty of Iceland’s most stunning winter attraction with this full-day ice cave and glacier adventure.

This tour invites participants to hike to a natural ice cave and explore the winter glacier within Vatnajökull National Park. During winter, the glacier undergoes a deep freeze, revealing crystal blue ice and incredible sub-glacial features that become safe and accessible.

The adventure begins at the Glacier Adventure basecamp in Hali. From there, a 4x4 journey of about half an hour will take participants towards the glacier. Depending on the cave’s location and the terrain, expect a hike of up to 1 hour to reach the ice cave.

Upon arrival, the pace will slow to allow appreciation of one of nature’s great wonders: the magnificent ice cave sculpted by glacial meltwater. The time spent inside the cave varies based on the group, weather, terrain conditions, and the size of the ice cave, typically ranging from 45 to 90 minutes.

The remaining time will be used to explore the glacier and visit other natural features such as arches, tunnels, and moulins.

The total hiking distance is approximately 8 km, traversing uneven rocky and glacial terrain.
