Hoi An – Bho Hoong Village & Co Tu Village
Hoi An Ancient Town - Departing from Hoi An, the journey begins with visits to a 1000-year-old Cham temple and the former US and French military bases from the independence wars.
Next, the route leads into the mountains, passing through lush tea plantations inhabited by the Co Tu minority.
Bho Hoong Bungalows - A brief pause at a tea plantation is followed by a visit to one of the few remaining Co Tu woodcarvers and his family. Enjoy a home-cooked lunch in their home before continuing deeper into the mountains. The culture and traditions of this secluded area remain largely unchanged by time, making it a captivating region home to one of Vietnam’s most authentic hill tribes.
Bho Hoong Bungalows - The day’s final destination is Bho Hoong, a traditional Co Tu village where guests will stay for two nights in stilted Co Tu huts. For centuries, little has changed in Bho Hoong, making it an ideal place to relax and appreciate the natural beauty of Central Vietnam. A local guide will lead a gentle village walk, revealing the village’s cultural secrets. After the tour, enjoy a refreshing swim in the river. Dinner features a BBQ by the river (during summer), offering a chance to engage with the friendly villagers and gain insight into their rich culture. Larger groups (four or more) will enjoy a bonfire and traditional dancing! Afterwards, retreat to the luxurious accommodations where the tranquil setting and fresh mountain air will ensure a restful sleep.
Co Tu Village – Hoi An
Hoi An Ancient Town - In the morning, awaken to the sounds of village life. Observe the Co Tu as they head to the fields and prepare meals while enjoying breakfast and a hot cup of coffee. Bid farewell to the Bho Hoong hosts and return to the winding mountain roads. At another Co Tu village, admire the brocade weavers, a craft for which the Co Tu are renowned. Then, travel along the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, through lush forests and past stunning views of the central Vietnam mountains. Just when it seems the scenery couldn’t be more beautiful, arrive at a waterfall nestled beside a towering peak for a picnic lunch.
In the afternoon, descend back towards the coast, with a brief stop to explore historic sites and points of interest, before heading east to Hoi An.
