Great morning out. - Fantastic morning. Trang our guide was very informative. Went to the market to get our ingredients and learn about Vietnamese produce. Then a boat ride, which was very entertaining! Then back to the restaurant to cook. We made four different dishes and got to take recipes home. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Chef Hon gives the best cooking class - We thoroughly enjoyed our Bay Mau cooking tour. Our guide was Chef Hon. He took us through the Hoi An Central Market food stalls first thing in the morning, explaining what he was getting and how we would use it. He also took the time to answer all of our questions about the different fruits and vegetables that we didn't know about. His English was great, so we learned a lot during this portion of our tour. The coconut boat ride to our destination was fun and interesting. The cooking class was amazing. Chef Hon would demonstrate how to make a dish, then we would monitor us as we each made the exact same dish at our own stations. The setting was fantastic, with several cooking stations set up in small group areas on large covered decks on a small river. It was idyllic and also connected you to the area. We made four distinct dishes, and ate them all, so we were full by the end of the session.

Great, tasty, hands-on experience - Great experience, Trang was very good teacher - warm and informative. With her help we made some great dishes and had a great lunch. It is really hands-on class, not just a demonstration.

A fun day out - The market tour and cooking class were excellent, really informative and very enjoyable. Our chef - Kieu - was a very good teacher. She made sure that we all knew what we were doing, followed instructions and cooked or prepared things correctly. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. I could have done without the bamboo boat experience but that's aimed at a younger audience anyway, with loudspeakers playing Gangnam Style during the spinning display.

Bay Mau cooking tour - Starts with visit to Old Town food market which is very interesting, transported to the Bay Mau restaurant on a river. There is a stop for a coconut boat ride which are everywhere in this area. Our guide and chef was Trang. Lovely lady and knowledgeable chef. Trang instructed us on how to make 4 dishes. Great fun, surprised myself with my attempts and you eat what you make. The Bay Mau restaurant itself is an authentic and lovely setting.

AWESOME - BUT BOOK DIRECT NOT THROUGH TRIPADVISOR - GREAT BUT DONT BOOK THROUGH TRIP ADVISOR PORTAL. Really enjoyed the classes which were well led by Trang, and the company and staff could not be more helpful. Unfortunately- they had not received our booking and advance payment. After a call they quickly fitted us in and were super helpful, plus Tripadvisor did quickly sort a full refund, but it would have been less drama to book direct to company and pay cash on the day (see photo for their brochure). They asked we pass this on! Be assured the company is reputable and provided a fantastic outing, but there is a persistent problem with booking agent selling their services and not passing on cash and details they were trying to resolve. Well worth it though!

Great cooking class - My boyfriend and I had a great time on this trip. We went for the afternoon tour and got picked up and taken to the market. There were 11 of us but we got split in half for ease. The market is active in the morning so was more quiet but we still felt we learnt loads about Vietnams agriculture. Then we went to the cooking class which suprised us as we thought it would be the boats first ( we had had lunch!). The class, however, was amazing. The instructors were fabulous, the setup was great and the food was excellent. After we then headed to the boats. For us this was slightly underwhelming as we were sleepy from the food. We had also seen videos on tick-tock and the trip we went on was a bit different. Overall a great trip.
