Climbing over 156 steps (or taking the elevator) to the summit of Thuy Son (Water Mountain) offers stunning views of natural landscapes and access to the grottoes of Huyen Khong and Tang Chon, as well as the Tam Thai pagoda, built in 1825. These ancient religious sites highlight the region’s enduring tradition of stone and marble carving. Visitors can descend via the handmade staircase or the elevator. The construction of the Hai Van tunnel in 2005 reduced travel time through the mountains by over an hour, transforming the Hai Van Pass into a serene scenic route. Construction began on July 19, 2009, and it officially opened to traffic on March 29, 2013. A stop here for photos is planned before returning to Hoi An (Da Nang Hotel).
