• Cẩm Kim - The first stop is a small family kitchen, where bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes) are traditionally prepared for breakfast. This offers a simple, delicious glimpse into rural life before continuing to one of Hoi An’s most picturesque villages. Here, a visit to a family home reveals the tradition of family chapels. The route then follows small canals and waterways to a wooden boat-building site. Fishing is vital to the province, and watching craftsmen hand-shape hulls is a photographer’s delight. If the timing is right, families can be seen cleaning fishing nets by the shore between sea journeys. The final stops include a family-run distillery where rice wine is made using age-old methods. Guests are welcome to sample a glass, or for the adventurous, try the stronger local version infused with herbs! Afterward, it’s time to ride back to Hoi An.

The roads narrow to concrete paths, leading to a traditional mat weaving shop and a family distillery where rice wine has been produced in the same way for generations. Samples are, of course, provided. It’s a short ride from here to board a local ferry for a trip back to town.
