To begin, you’ll have the opportunity to savor our herbal tea while listening to an expert discuss the heritage and cultural significance of Hoi An Lanterns….
Our Lanterns are crafted from silk and bamboo, available in a variety of forms including lotus, diamond, sunrise, and sunset.
The comprehensive 11-step process to create your own lantern is as follows:
Step 1: Fasten 12 bamboo rods using wire thread
Step 2 and 3: Mold the rods into either a sunrise (inverted triangle) or sunset (triangle) shape
Step 4: Place the bamboo rods onto a hanger and fix them in place with thread
Step 5: Choose your preferred silk and hue
Step 6: Apply adhesive and wait for it to set
Step 7: Position the silk and stretch it to envelop the rods
Step 8: Encase the sides completely with silk
Step 9: Adorn the top and bottom of the hanger with silk strips
Step 10: Pick out a tassel for the base of the lantern
Step 11: Complete! You can collapse your lantern and pack it in your luggage to take home
Additionally, the expert will craft an extra lantern for you as a unique token of appreciation at the conclusion of the workshop.

An engaging and fun couple of hours. - I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. The staff were great fun and very friendly. Step by step guidance was given and individual support when needed. The place was easy to find and when I needed to alter my booking a short notice this was easily accommodated. A really engaging and fun way to spend a couple of hours out of the hot sun. Highly recommended.

Fantastic family experience - Exceeded my expectations. Delighted with the end result and found the whole experience really enjoyable and relaxing. I was so impressed with how helpful patient and kind the team were with my children aged 4, 10 and 13. Helped them at every stage without doing it for them which meant they had a massive sense of achievement with their lanterns.

The Best Lantern Making Class in Hoi An. - An absolute must do in the city of lanterns. Tam and her brothers are wonderful, ensuring not only do you come away with a beautiful lantern but also with a huge smile on your face. The lesson is fun-filled and so enjoyable, all the while being carefully supervised by these very talented siblings. I can’t wait to make another lantern with them when I visit next.

A must for Hoi an - An absolute must when in Hoi an. We enjoyed every minute. The lanterns look great aswell.
The staff are helpful and make you feel at home. A laugh from start to finish.

Great! Must do or at least support this family business - I had such a great time here. The family is so funny and all the people that worked there were so nice. I felt right at home being roasted while not cutting straight lines and getting lost in the directions. They made so many jokes i just had such a fun time. I also made friends while I was in the class but also got distracted so it took me way longer to make it! This is a must do.

Great fun making lanterns - Went and made lanterns this morning- before it got overly packed. We had a proper laugh with the teaching lads and had good company with another couple at our table. Despite the odds, we made two lovely lanterns and bought some others.
Go for the fun and experience of learning a new skill. Where they were a bit short on a certain colour if fabric, we just asked and they cut some more.
For us, really worth doing and very affordable 👌

Make your own silk lantern! - Fun experience!
Did take 2 hours!
I think if they would concentrate on a group of 4 at a time you’d finish in an hour. But because they have 12 in one room- just too many students!
16 in another room.
Then- I saw another group go somewhere else. Very popular spot.
I did find a few other ones in town that were cheaper- but you only put the silks on the frame.
Only reason I’m giving a 4/5 is that there was a lot of wait time because there was nobody to give instructions for the next steps or to check the work you had just done.

Not like the videos - I heard such amazing things, but my experience didn't seem to be consistent with others'. There was thick dust caking all the lanterns and the selection of silk fabrics was extremely small - nothing like all the YouTube I had seen. I heard two other people asking for fabrics that they didn't have. A bit disappointing.
