Great Trip, Excellant Service - This Hoi An City Tour with a boat ride and flower lantern release was a fantastic way to discover the heart of Hoi An! The tour started with convenient hotel pick-up, and our guide set the tone with enthusiasm and local insights.
The Hoi An Market was a vibrant kickoff—bursting with colors, sounds, and smells that captured the town’s lively spirit. Exploring historical sites like the Phuc Kien Chinese Assembly Hall and Tan Ky Ancient House was a highlight; these 200-year-old gems offered a fascinating glimpse into Hoi An’s past. The 400-year-old Japanese Bridge was another standout, with its unique history adding depth to the visit.
We also visited local handicraft shops and wandered charming laneways, which showcased Hoi An’s artisanal culture and hidden corners. The boat ride on the river was serene, and releasing flower lanterns to pray for good luck felt truly magical as they glowed on the water. Overall, this tour packs Hoi An’s cultural highlights into a well-organized half-day adventure. Perfect for first-time visitors wanting a mix of history, charm, and a memorable lantern experience. Highly recommend!

Magical evening! - This tour is a brilliant way to get to know Hoi An old town and find your barings. We got to ride a golf buggy from our hotel to the old town which was fun and then Sue led us around all the main sights of the town.
We started at the Chinese Hall which was absolutely stunning particularly at sunset! She made sure we got a chance to look around it before it closed but I would have liked a little longer to soak it in as it was so lovely.
Then we went to the museum to learn about how they used to make silk and calligraphy and Sue talked to us about Hoi Ans history and how the town has developed which was fascinating.
Then we got our first glimpse of the old town itself all lit up and it was incredible! Sue led us through the crowds to the Japanese Bridge and got some lovely photos of us and again talked us through its construction and history which was very interesting.
Then she managed to find a nice short queue for the lantern boat ride and gave us the candles so we could could make a wish and being out on river with all the lights and lanterns was just incredible.
After that we had dinner at a local restaurant and she recommended several dishes to try all of which were delicious and we got to chat with her and learn more about life in Hoi An.
It was an absolutely brilliant evening and the time flew by. Its worth noting that there isn't any time during the tour itself to shop but if you wanted to you could stay in the market after the tour to shop, but we would thoroughly recommend Sue and this tour as a way to learn more about the history of Hoi An old town so you can appreciate all the things you will see there!
