A very moving and intimate history tour - What a hidden gem when it comes to a history tour in Vietnam. And Vincent as our guide, is able to handle such a difficult tour subject so well. My Lai memorial site, the way it's laid out, makes it an immersive place to learn about events surrounding the war crime. It is a sombre place (quiet with not many visitors) to pay respect and honour the dead. We started our visit with watching a 20 m documentary made especially for the site, then explored the museum. Walking around the now empty village, Vincent was very helpful explaining and giving context to what we see. Without him, we wouldn't have learned about who is who or how events were connected.
We then went to a large Buddhist temple, already looking impressive despite still being under construction. Then another tour highlight, Ky Anh Tunnels. So under appreciated imho, compared to Cu Chi and Vinh Moc. We had the privilege of having Mr Ta, an ex Viet Cong soldier, accompanying us during our visit. He shared how he and his comrades built the tunnels, amongst other stories --which I won't say too much to avoid spoilers. He walked with us, for some time, showing us around the site. Like Vincent, Mr Ta was also friendly and approachable. He made us feel at ease in asking questions about his experiences in the war.
What we've seen and learned from the tour will linger on our mind long after we finish the tour.
If you like history, and would like an intimate tour to learn more about what happened and reflect, I'd wholly recommend this tour.

A Hidden Gem south of Hoi Anh - A long day but well worth it. Off the tourist trail for now but won’t be for long. Listening to the stories of real life experiences and seeing the Ky Anh tunnels was a highlight and Vincent made sure we were well looked after throughout the day.

Definitely worth it! - Really nice tour with Vincent! Really enjoyed learning more about the war history, definitely a shame that not more people come and see this. In the tunnels we spoke to a Vietcong veteran who showed a lot about how they used to work.

A Hidden Gem in Hoi An – Authentic, Powerful, and Deeply Moving - This tour was an absolute highlight of our time in Vietnam. It felt truly authentic — not something you’d find on the usual tourist trail. We were fortunate to visit places that most travellers never see, and what we learnt will stay with us forever.
The experience took us deep into the real history of Vietnam, far beyond what you get from museums or guidebooks. We learnt about the Sang Mai Massacre and the devastating impact it had on the local community — a sobering and powerful moment of reflection. One of the most unforgettable parts of the tour was meeting Mr. Ta, a real Viet Cong fighter, who shared firsthand stories and took us through the Khu an tunnels. Hearing from someone who lived through it all gave us such a rare and valuable insight.
Thank you for putting on such a meaningful and well-run tour. It was informative, respectful, and eye-opening. We highly recommend this to anyone wanting to understand Vietnam’s true history. It’s not busy or commercialised — just a real hidden gem that deserves to be shared.

Excellent. Brilliant Staff. - Excellent tour, very friendly tour guide with great knowledge of the history of this area & Vincent speaks excellent English.
Booked tour at short notice & he was very accommodating.
Very clean private car & lots of cold bottled water provided which was needed in the 40 degree heat!
It's a full day tour, left hotel in Da Nang at 8am. 3hr Drive to My Lai, tour of Museum & Massacre site at old village. Then a tasty local Vietnameese lunch. Then 1.5 hr drive back towards Da Nang & stopped at Ky Anh Tunnells, this was the highlight of the tour with former Viet Cong Vet. Then onto Cham Sanctuary before drive back to hotel in Da Nang.
Would highly recommend this tour Vincent was a very good tour guide.

Private tour, best guide in Vietnam, highly recommend. - It’s been a pleasure taking the tour with Vin. Especially considering the topic the tour deals with.
We went to Son My Memorial, and made a special detour to one of the biggest Buddhist temples currently under construction, to Ky Anh Tunnels where we met a veteran, who taught us about Vietcong communication strategies and showed us around various tunnels. Lastly we went to Cham Ruin Towers where we got a little later than anticipated. (Vin was so kind showing us even more spots than we booked.) But thanks to him, we could very much enjoy this spot as well.
Saying we got our money’s worth would be an understatement, as we learned a lot about rites, culture and religion of the region.
He takes time explaining things in detail, will make sure you understand, when explaining details. He’s kind and accommodating.
Since he had just started his business a while ago, it isn’t hyper touristic. Instead it will provide you with a genuine experience of the Vietnam war and the culture of Vietnam today.
The tour is, as stated, completely private and we definitely enjoyed the experience. Furthermore he showed us spots that can easily compete with Cu Chi tunnels but not so overrun by tourists.
10/10, would book again! And best of luck to his company.

The only tour you need!!! - My wife booked us this tour on spec and it turned out to be the most special day you could ever possibly imagine. We were very lucky to have Cham Cham himself as our guide and what a bonus that was! He is incredibly knowledgeable and was happy to share plenty of interesting historical and cultural facts with us throughout the whole tour (#tip; it was 10 hours start to finish so allow yourself a full day to experience everything on offer). Cham provided helpful background context on the way to My Lai which made the experience even more poignant, especially when we got to see the sole living survivor of the massacre who happened to be in the museum filming an interview when we arrived. After walking around the village we were treated to a delicious lunch at a very traditional family run restaurant in a nearby hamlet. Next stop was the tunnels at Ky Anh where the wonderful ex-VC soldier Mr Tho (?) gave us an overview of the tunnel system and how the VC conducted guerrilla warfare against GI Joe from right under their noses. As mentioned elsewhere, he was one of the actual tunnel diggers and still knows his way around the whole 32km underground system! You definitely need to go with Cham as we were peppering Mr Tho with questions which would not have been possible without Cham Cham there to translate for us. As if all this was not enough, on the way home we were taken to the Champa temple towers at Chien Dan which are a wonder to behold. Literally, on the side of the road in someone's backyard are 3 of the most well-preserved examples of these beautiful and functionally important works of art you will find...so much better than My Son and not a tourist bus in sight!! Once again Cham Cham's history degree came in handy as he explained so much more about the Champa people's culture, religious ceremonies and construction methods than we had heard on the My Son tour, and he had even arranged for the adjacent museum full of treasures from the site to be opened up especially for us. So....in summary, if you are thinking of doing a tour from Hoi An then this is the only one you need. Definitely "off the beaten track", there were no other tourists at any of the places Cham Cham took us to, we got to see so much and his connections and local knowledge made the day truly wonderful, it was like a hands-on history lesson. Must also mention our driver who got us there and back safely and navigated the hectic traffic expertly. Do yourself a favour and book in now!

Incredible off the beaten track tour - If I could give this tour 10 stars I would. This was an amazing unique authentic experience for anyone who wants to dive deeper into Vietnamese history both modern and ancient. A full day tour with 3 different stops - My Lai so poignant and troubling but our wonderful guide Cham Cham took us through it very carefully, as well us giving us the space to absorb everything in our own time. The most delicious local lunch at a place we perhaps would never have gone was a special highlight. This was followed by the incredible Ky Anh tunnels and meeting Mr To - a VC veteran who had helped buid the tunnels as a 17 year old. So many fascinating stories. It was a privilege to meet this man and talk to him as well as the opportunity to actually go into the tunnels and walk around the village. Finally the Champ temple ruins close by. Anyone with the slightest interest in archeology would be stunned by these ruins and the little museum. I strongly suggest skipping My Son and doing this instead (as an archeological student and someone who had been to both now) Finally we learnt so much, during the drive, about Vietnamese culture and society just talking to Cham Cham and observing the countryside. This tour really bought history and modern life alive for us and is for anyone seeking alot more depth than average basic tourist tour. We also could not believe we were the only people at each location- so special and incredible value. Thank you Cham Cham!! (and Mr So Safe Driver!!!) Wonderful.
