- Hoi An Ancient Town - A professional tour guide and driver will meet you at your cruise ship terminal inside Tien Sa Port. Please provide your pick-up and drop-off times according to your cruise ship schedule.
The tour begins with a visit to the Giant Lady Buddha Statue, the tallest in Vietnam, located at Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang. The statue, which stands against the mountains and faces the sea, features 17 floors, each with an altar containing 21 Buddha statues in various shapes, expressions, and postures. The next destination is the Marble Mountains, consisting of five marble and limestone hills named after the five elements: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth. Here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city and ocean, explore natural caves, and visit the sacred pagoda.
Around 12:00 or 12:30, savor a delicious Vietnamese set menu lunch at a local restaurant.
Following lunch, the tour continues to Hoi An city, a World Heritage Site along the Thu Bon River. This ancient town has remained unchanged for centuries and was once the international trading port of the Champa Kingdom, known for importing and exporting wood, gold, and silk. In the past, Hoi An hosted trade fairs that attracted merchants from Holland, Portugal, Japan, and China. When the river became shallow, Da Nang replaced Hoi An as the harbor in the 18th century.
During the walking tour of the old town, the guide will explain the history of the Japanese bridge, a traditional house, a Chinese Assembly Hall, a cultural and historical museum, and the market. You will also have about an hour to explore the old town independently and shop for your favorite souvenirs.
On the return journey to the ship, there will be a stop at My Khe Beach, known as the R&R beach where US marines landed and stayed during the Vietnam War, and at Dragon Bridge for beautiful photo opportunities.
Rest assured, you will return to the ship one hour before its departure.
- The Marble Mountains - Visit the sacred pagodas and explore the natural caves, which once served as a hospital for treating wounded Vietnamese soldiers and as a hiding place for the Viet Cong during the American war.
– Enjoy the breathtaking views from the mountain summit and admire the cluster of five small mountains representing the five essential elements of the universe: water, fire, wood, earth, and metal.
– Visit the traditional marble handicraft village to witness the skillful craftsmanship of local artisans.
- Lady Buddha - The Giant Lady Buddha Statue, the tallest in Vietnam, is located at Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang. The statue stands on the mountains facing the sea and features 17 floors, each with an altar containing 21 Buddha statues in various shapes, expressions, and postures.
