• Clava Cairns - Often cited as the inspiration for the fictional Craigh na Dun standing stones in the Outlander series, Clava Cairns is a remarkably well-preserved Bronze Age cemetery near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Dating back around 4,000 years, the site boasts a unique blend of passage graves, ring cairns, and standing stones. Some of these stones display prehistoric cup and ring marks—ancient circular carvings whose meanings remain unknown.
• Cawdor Castle - Cawdor Castle is a picturesque 14th-century Scottish tower house and the ancestral home of the Thanes of Cawdor. A quintessential example of Highland architecture, the castle is featured in the Outlander series and beautifully captures the essence of both the books and the show. Although famously associated with William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the castle was constructed long after the historical king’s reign. It is also renowned for the legendary holly tree around which it was originally built; the remains of this tree can still be seen today in the tower’s lowest level.
• Clootie Well - This ancient, mystical site revolves around the tradition of tying fabric—or “cloots”—to trees to heal ailments. In Scots, “clootie” means cloth. These sacred sites feature trees near holy wells or springs. Traditionally, a rag or cloth is dipped into the water and tied to a tree to cure a sickness or ailment. This unique location aligns perfectly with the folklore and pagan themes explored throughout Outlander, offering a tangible connection to the timeless, magical, and superstitious culture depicted in the show.
• Beauly - A delightful village near Inverness and a key location for the Outlander series. Situated in the heart of Clan Fraser country, it serves as the historic home of Jamie Fraser’s ancestors and features the 13th-century Beauly Priory. While the site portrayed the fictional monastery of Saint Anne de Beaupré in the TV series, the books describe it as the location of the Lovat Fraser family tombs and the setting where Claire meets the seer, Maisri. Visitors can explore the roofless church and the surrounding graveyard, which contains many Fraser family headstones that reportedly inspired various character names in the series. Additionally, a visit to Robertsons Farm in Beauly offers the chance to meet a famous Highland Hairy Cow named Jamie, along with his family and friends.
• Loch Ness Region - Home to the beloved Nessie, the loch is a significant location in both the novels and the television show, serving as the site for Claire and Frank’s cruise and where Claire encounters the “water horse” during the 18th century. Beyond its specific scenes, Loch Ness and the surrounding Highlands provide the primary backdrop for the story’s beginning, including Claire’s journey back in time. The areas near the loch are also deeply connected to the historical Jacobite events and lore depicted throughout the series.
• Culloden Battlefield - This windswept moor marks the site where the 1745 Jacobite Rising came to a tragic and decisive end on April 16, 1746, serving as the location of the last pitched battle fought on British soil. The Battle of Culloden is a central historical event in the Outlander series, serving as the tragic climax for the Jacobite rebellion that Jamie and Claire Fraser spend two seasons trying to prevent.

To enhance the 18th-century experience, participants can be dressed in traditional garments like a Feileadh Mor or an Arisaid. The adventure also features a trip to the historic standing stones at Clava Cairns, a location celebrated for its profound connections to mysticism and folklore.

• 1. Our Tours are Private. This tour requires a minimum of 2 people per booking, maximum 7.
• 2. A tour reminder alert will be sent to you a few days before your tour. It will be through any of the following: Viator message, Email, WhatsApp or iMessage from +44 7481 590163.
• 3. We offer pick-up and drop-off within Inverness or enroute.
• 4. Wear appropriate, comfortable clothing. Waterproof hiking shoes and jackets are highly recommended. Carry-ons/Backpacks are welcome but Luggage space is limited.
• 5. You can bring lunch or snacks in case we miss restaurants/cafes lunchtime schedule.
• 6. Minors, Seniors and People with Special Needs must always be accompanied by their respective guardians.
• 7. We kindly ask that all participants observe mindful public awareness, respect the environment, wildlife and guidelines. Please be conscious about carbon footprint during the tour.
• 8. For everyone’s safety, comfort and well-being, we cannot accommodate the following: i. Children under 5 years old ii. Wheelchair/mobility assistance iii. Anyone with high risk health conditions (i.e expecting a baby, feeling unwell or exhibiting contagious symptoms like cough, sneezing, colds or runny nose). Please do not attempt to join our tour if any one in your group is unwell, recovering or still infectious - your group will be refused service without a refund. We can alternatively offer you another date within the tour season (depending on availability) iv. Any untoward behaviour in general that presents a danger to themselves or others will not be tolerated.
• 9. We will not to be held liable for any accidents, personal injury, damage or loss of property, missed travel schedules or any appointments thereafter.
• 10. Photos and videos taken during our tours may be used for promotional purposes.
• If you have any medical condition, don’t forget to bring your prescribed medication or take them before your tour starts. Bring a bug spray if you are prone to insect bites during summer time, meds for motion sickness, etc. Your health, comfort and well-being will ultimately be up to you.
