A Perfectly Curated Scottish Experience - A Perfectly Curated Scottish Experience After spending three unforgettable days with Highland Tour Company, my wife and I can confidently say this was one of the most exceptional travel experiences we’ve had in over 30 years of touring the world. Our journey focused on the Scottish Highlands and Edinburgh, and every moment was seamlessly executed with care, insight, and precision. Highland Tour Company is a family-owned and operated business that truly excels in personalized travel. Their van was incredibly comfortable and well-equipped, and their guides were among the most knowledgeable and experienced we've ever encountered. From the outset, they provided a fully bespoke experience—flexibly adjusting plans on the fly to suit our interests and needs without ever missing a beat. Every stop, recommendation, and activity was thoughtfully selected and perfectly timed. Whether it was arranging a scenic hike at the last minute, accommodating unexpected requests, being punctual to the minute, or choosing outstanding restaurants, hotels, and points of interest—Highland Tour Company consistently delivered at the highest level. Their deep knowledge of Scottish whisky distilleries and golf courses stood out, and their expertise in route planning and scheduling was second to none. As proud Highland locals, they offer unmatched insight into the Inverness area and beyond. We were welcomed in Edinburgh, enjoyed charming towns en route, shared a memorable breakfast at a beautiful spot between Inverness and Edinburgh, and came away with a deeper appreciation for Scotland’s rich history, vibrant culture, and iconic landmarks. Whether you're interested in golf- or whiskey-focused itineraries, luxury touring, or private cruise ship excursions from Invergordon, Cromarty Firth, or Ullapool, this company truly does it all—and does it exceptionally well. Our only regret? Not staying longer. We’re already planning our return.

Great 2 day custom highlands tour with local guides - Ian and Louis are the dynamic father and son duo of the Highland Tour Company. When the smiling pair in matching kilts arrived at our hotel in St. Andrews, our family of four knew we were in for a treat. They arrived in a brand new hybrid van emblazoned with their company logo. After loading up our luggage and clicking our seat belts within the immaculate interior, we were off! From the start, Ian and Louis were organized, attentive to our needs and flexible with the agenda. They laid out the overall plan for our two day highlands excursion full of castles and scenic walks. When we mentioned our interest in the Culloden War Memorial, Pictish sites and authentic whiskey distilleries, they easily tweaked our schedule to accommodate the requests. In fact, Ian made calls in real time and was able to schedule a tasting at Tomatin Distillery. The guides are natives of Inverness and entertained us with many personal stories of the area. Day 2 of our tour was when Ian and Louis really went above and beyond with their kindness and strategic planning. When we arrived at our hotel in Inverness at the end of Day 1, our teenage son was unwell with fever and nausea. By early the next morning, he could barely get up. We called Ian and Louis who arrived within minutes to take us to the local ER. While our son was being taken care of, they went back to our hotel to gather up our luggage as well as our daughter and picked us up after the ER visit. Our son was doing better and we continued on our journey. The team seamlessly adjusted the day’s schedule to make sure we finished our tour on a high note. When they delivered us to our hotel in Edinburgh, Ian and Louis felt like family and we were sad to say our goodbyes. We can honestly say our time with The Highland Tour Company was among the best travel experiences we have ever had and recommend them highly. Thank you Ian and Louis for a wonderful time!
