- Inverness - Begin an unforgettable one-day journey in Inverness, the heart of the Scottish Highlands. As you leave the city, the operator will immerse you in local folklore, suggest additional attractions to explore during your visit, and recommend the finest food, drink, and entertainment Inverness has to offer.
- Loch Ness Region - The adventure starts at Loch Ness, where you’ll meet the charming Highland cows. Not only will you have the chance to photograph them, but the operator will also provide carrots for feeding, creating a memorable bucket list experience. Discover the tales of the world’s most famous loch and watch the scenery transform as you head towards the Isle of Skye.
- Glenmoriston - En route to Skye, travel through breathtaking glens, historic battlefields, and ancient crofting communities. The operator will share captivating stories and carefully curated historical narratives, enriching your understanding of the land’s rich cultural heritage. A specially selected soundtrack will enhance your connection to the landscape.
- Chocolates of Glenshiel - Enjoy a brief coffee break at an award-winning chocolatier, where you can observe chocolate-making through a viewing window on select days.
- Eilean Donan Castle - Make a quick photo stop at the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, featured in the film Highlander with Sean Connery. Voted one of Instagram’s most photographed castles in 2023, the tour does not include access to the castle due to time constraints for the Old Man of Storr hike. However, the schedule is flexible if the group wishes to spend more time here.
- Skye Bridge - A short 15-minute journey leads to the Skye Bridge, a highlight for ‘Outlander’ fans as you cross ‘Over the Sea to Skye’. Alternatively, from April to October, take the world’s only working turntable ferry for a less-traveled route with stunning viewpoints and a seal colony. This longer route requires more time, so please mention your interest after booking or on the day to adjust the itinerary.
- Broadford - Stop at the historic cattle market town of Broadford to visit a hidden gem, concluding one of the stories shared on the way to Skye. Sample one of Skye’s renowned drinks here.
- Sligachan Old Bridge - Continue to Sligachan Old Bridge, the first of Skye’s many enchanting locations, and the setting for the operator’s signature ‘bridge photo’ taken by drone. Prepare to pose and immerse yourself in a famous fairy legend.
- Portree Harbour - Travel to Portree, the ‘Quaint Capital’ of the island, where you can capture photos of the charming harbour with its pastel-colored houses. Choose to take a lunch break here or bring a packed lunch to continue to an additional viewpoint and the Old Man of Storr for a hike rated easy to moderate.
- The Old Man of Storr - The tour’s highlight is the hike to The Old Man of Storr, a striking 50-meter volcanic plug left after massive landslides. The steady climb offers magnificent rewards.
The Old Man of Storr is part of a stunning array of geological features between the Trotternish Ridge and the sea. Awe-inspiring and frequently photographed, it feels like stepping onto a ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film set.
- Trotternish Ridge - Pause for a quick photo at Scotland’s famous Kilt Rock waterfall. Travel alongside the Trotternish Ridge, the UK’s longest of its kind.
- Kilt Rock - Kilt Rock is a breathtaking waterfall between The Old Man of Storr and The Quiraing, featuring colorful basalt rock columns with a 90-meter drop to the beach below. On wild days, the cliffs may whistle, so hold onto your hats!
- Quiraing - Departing Kilt Rock, travel through Staffin on a single-track road to the operator’s favorite Skye viewpoint, The Quiraing. Marvel at the iconic, stunning views that will remain with you forever. The Quiraing embodies the essence of Skye, a dream for photographers and hikers.
- Trotternish Ridge - The Quiraing marks the furthest point of the one-day tour, so enjoy a well-deserved rest as you return to Broadford for refreshments.
On the return journey along the Trotternish Ridge, the operator will share more about the island, other breathtaking locations, and the best accommodations, food, drink, and hiking opportunities Skye offers. Consider the two-day tour for a longer adventure to explore more of Skye’s wonders.
- Broadford - Make a quick stop in Broadford for refreshments and a visit to the gift shop.
- Inverness - Finally, relax and enjoy more stunning scenery and music, or start editing your photos as you return to Inverness.
