• Atomic Bomb Dome - When Japan became a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention in 1992, many individuals, including survivors of the atomic bomb, began advocating for the A-bomb Dome to be recognized as a World Heritage Site.

A successful national campaign led by Hiroshima citizens gathered signatures, resulting in its designation as a national historical site in June 1995. It was subsequently added to the World Heritage Sites list in 1996, symbolizing the call for nuclear disarmament and global peace.

• Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park - On August 6, 1949, following the enactment of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial City Construction Law, the entire Nakajima District was dedicated to “peace memorial facilities,” marking the inception of what is now known as Peace Memorial Park.
  The park spans approximately 122,100 square meters and was designed by Kenzo Tange, a professor at Tokyo University, along with three others. Their proposal was chosen from 145 entries in a design competition.
  At the southern edge of the park, there are three buildings: the East Building and the Main Building of the Peace Memorial Museum, and the International Conference Center Hiroshima.
• Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum - The Peace Memorial Museum comprises two buildings that explore Hiroshima’s history and the emergence of the nuclear bomb. Its primary focus is on the events of August 6, detailing the bomb’s impact and the resulting human suffering. The personal stories shared are deeply moving and serve as a reminder of the importance of peace.

※If the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is closed, visitors will be taken to the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims instead.

• Itsukushima Shrine Torii - The shrine is situated in a small inlet, with the torii gate positioned in the Seto Inland Sea. Visitors can stroll along paths around the inlet, enjoying views of the sea. After sunset, the shrine and torii gate are illuminated until 23:00, offering a picturesque setting for ryokan guests to enjoy an evening walk in yukata and geta sandals. However, entry to the shrine is not permitted after sunset. 1 hour is allocated for lunch time.
  The travel time between locations is approximately 30 minutes.
