Hiroshima with Amy - Prior to the tour, communication was great. We met Amy at the meeting place as directed. She held a sign, and greeted us warmly in great English. Once everyone arrived, the walking tour began. We travelled to many meaningful sites and along the way she stopped and described the history of what happened before, during and after the bombing. She was passionate and provided us with her knowledge regarding Japan’s attitude towards the war and specifically the atomic bombing. Amy was great and we came away with a better understanding from a different perspective.

I highly recommend this... - I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about the A-Bomb and what Hiroshima stands for today. Emi did a great job leading us around and making sure we understood the history, asking if we had any questions after each stopping point. I will note, my husband and I were almost late due to the Viator leading us to the end point not the beginning. Head to Hiroshimagokoku shrine to start.

Deep and impressive experience of modern Hiroshima, 80 years later. - We were very lucky the weather was dry and not too cold, so we could enjoy listening to our very knowledgeable guide's explanations. Evidently, it's very sensitive and a sad topic to talk about Hiroshima and it's history, but she was very good in explaining the story. However, we were all amazed by the serenity and peacefulness in the city and near the bomb site and the constant messages of peace everywhere. A very deep impression and the guide certainly, by also giving some personal information, helped a lot. Very warmly recommended.

A wonderful and insightful tour from Emi! - We only had limited time in Hiroshima and wanted to be sure to get a good perspective on the context, the impact, and the recovery from the bombing. We thought the description and the itinerary for this walking tour would be a great fit, and our expectations were exceeded. Our guide, Emi, was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We drank in every word, none of it extraneous or unrelated to Hiroshima, and finished the tour with a much clearer view. Emi mixed in a surprising amount of historical context for the time we had and also gave some wonderful food recommendations that we immediately put to good use (Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki is the best!) We would recommend this tour to any visitor to Hiroshima. Thank you, Emi!

Hiroshima transformed - What a beautiful day to walk around Hiroshima with our guide, Dai. Dai was enthusiastic, informative and had a great sense of humor all while giving the Japanese view of such a tragic event. Thank you, Dai.

A lesson in history - Cheesa (not sure if I’ve got her name exactly right) is very knowledgeable about the history and the site and was very passionate about what happened with a direct family tie to the bombing. All this showed in her excellent presentation.

Slightly Struggled - A slightly tricky review to write. I thought it was a usual walking tour, similar to others I have taken around the world. This was different as in the middle of it was a 30 minute history lesson/lecture giving a potted history of the events leading to Pearl Harbour and then the dropping of the A bomb. Given that all tours intersperse history this wasn't unusual, but I did not expect this as it was not on the website and I am not sure I would have booked had I known the format. I found it a little too much and too long and whilst our guide was enthusiastic we left somewhat disappointing.

A good insight - This was a good insight into the broader history of Japan & then more specifically the Atomic bomb. Emi was a good guide who managed to keep everyone's attention through some tricky commentary & made it interesting. This is our second "...localized" tour & we highly recommend them.
