• People’s Committee Building - Constructed between 1902 and 1908 in a French colonial style by architect Paul Gardès, the building has housed the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Court since 1975. The building is popular for its photo opportunities, with many tourists choosing to take pictures outside, especially at night when it is beautifully illuminated.
• Emperor Jade Pagoda - Built in 1909 to honor the supreme Taoist god (the Jade Emperor or King of Heaven, Ngoc Hoang), this is one of the most atmospheric temples in Ho Chi Minh City, filled with statues of mystical deities and heroic figures. The air is thick with the scent of incense, obscuring the intricate woodcarvings.
