Lynn’s statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican granted the Cathedral the status of a basilica and bestowed upon it the formal title of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Standing nearly 60 meters tall, the cathedral is renowned for its neo-Romanesque style, including its entirely red brick exterior (sourced from Marseille), its stained-glass windows, a pair of bell towers housing six bronze bells that continue to chime, and a serene garden in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1.
