Saigon Meet-Up, Walking City Tour

Saigon Centre - The team will greet participants at the hotel arranged by VN Bicycle Travel to begin exploring the city on foot. The tour includes visits to iconic sites such as the Saigon Old Post Office, Notre Dame, Reunification Palace, and the War Museum. Lunch will be enjoyed at Quan Ngon, a must-visit restaurant showcasing Vietnamese culinary culture. The tour continues with a walk back to the center, stopping at Ben Thanh Market and Saigon Square for shopping. Participants will then have free time to explore Saigon on their own, with the team returning the following day.

Cu Chi Tunnels: Cycling 25km

Cu Chi Tunnels - This tour offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the renowned Cu Chi Tunnels. The tour guide will meet participants at the hotel in Saigon and transfer them for an hour to escape the city’s bustling traffic. Participants will then cycle through stunning rubber tree plantations leading to the tunnels. Along the way, there will be stops to enjoy sugar cane juice, fruits with locals, take photos, and hear stories about the rubber industry. After cycling 25km, participants will reach the tunnels, where the knowledgeable tour guide will share the history of this famous site.

Our local biking guide is very familiar with the area and can lead participants through small villages, rubber trees, and ferries, providing ample opportunities for photos and interactions with locals before arriving at the world-famous Cu Chi Tunnels. This experience highlights why the IGs couldn’t win the Vietnam War.

Mekong Delta Cycling

Mekong Delta - Cai Be-Vinh Long is renowned for its fruits and is a picturesque region of the Mekong. The area is filled with canals, lush greenery, and friendly locals who are delighted to see visitors. Le Vietnam Travel offers a chance to experience the authentic Mekong Delta and its people by taking participants on small, less touristy back roads. After 7km of cycling, participants will cross water to reach Tan Qui Island, an untouched part of the Mekong, where locals greet visitors with warm smiles and friendly hellos.

1:30 pm: Lunch on an island in a garden, featuring Elephant Fish and local dishes.
2:30 pm: Experience rowing a boat along small canals shaded by mangrove trees.
3:15 pm: Return to the boat to visit the floating market.
3:45 pm: Stop at a village to see locals making pop rice and rice paper.

Ho Chi Minh-Da Lat (18 miles biking) (B, L)

Dalat Market - In addition to its colonial heritage, Dalat is famous in Vietnam for its market gardens, which grow everything from carrots and cauliflowers to avocados and bananas, as well as various flowers. For Vietnamese people, Dalat symbolizes romance, making it a popular destination for honeymooners. A few kilometers from Dalat, at the base of Mount Langbian, is the village of the Lat ethnic minority, from whom Dalat derives its name. The rugged terrain around Mount Lang offers excellent off-road and on-road biking opportunities. From Dalat, the fertile plateau of the Central Highlands stretches northward for hundreds of kilometers.

Dalat-Nha Trang (50 miles cycling) (B, L)

Nha Trang - Today’s ride is predominantly downhill through pine forests, villages, and tea plantations, descending nearly 1500m from Dalat to Nha Trang in the afternoon. Overnight in Nha Trang.

Nha Trang-Whale Island (35km cycling) (B, L, D)

Hon Mun Island - To avoid cycling on H1, participants will drive in the morning to the Hon Gom Peninsula, approximately 80km north of Nha Trang. After unloading the bikes, participants will ride a short distance past shrimp farms along the peninsula. A 15-minute boat ride will take them to Whale Island, an eco-resort owned by a Frenchman and his Vietnamese wife. The island is small but offers plenty of optional activities, such as catamaran sailing, snorkeling, relaxing, hiking the short nature trail around the island, and diving. The cuisine is a fusion of French and Vietnamese dishes.

Whale Island – Quy Nhon (60 km cycling) (B, L)

Quy Nhon - After a leisurely morning on the island, participants will return to the main road and drive a short distance north to avoid heavy traffic. They will then cycle back roads to the coastal town of Quy Nhon, meeting friendly locals along the way. Overnight in Quy Nhon.

Quy Nhon-Quang Ngai (55km cycling) (B, L)

Hoi An - Hoi An remains much as it was during its peak. A walking tour is the best way to explore the wooden-fronted houses that once belonged to the town’s prosperous merchants, the Japanese-covered Bridge, and the vibrant market. Hoi An is one of the best places in Vietnam to shop for souvenirs at bargain prices, including silk, handicrafts, antiques, and paintings. Five kilometers from the town center is Cua Dai Beach, popular with both locals and visitors for its sandy beach, warm sea, and seafood stalls. Hoi An is renowned throughout Vietnam for its excellent seafood and unique dishes, such as Cao Lau, a delicious combination of noodles, pork, bean sprouts, mint, and croutons.

Hoi An at Leisure (B)

Hoi An - The day is at leisure. Alternatively, participants can take a bike ride to My Son Cham Tower, located 70km from Hoi An, or charter a local boat to the beautiful Cham Island, set in pristine seas with a gorgeous deserted beach. Few tourists have visited this gem. An Bang Beach and Tra Que vegetable farm are other options.

Hoi An – Hue (65 km cycling) (B, L)

Hue - Today, participants will cycle north to Hue, passing over the spectacular Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Ocean Clouds). They will have lunch at Lang Co Beach and enjoy the amazing ride along the Thuan An Peninsula, with numerous village temples, tombs, ancestors, rice fields, vegetable farms, buffalos, cows, and children along the way to Hue.

Hue Cycle in the Morning - Train to Hanoi (B, L, D)

Hue - When Bao Dai, the last of the Nguyen Emperors, abdicated, many of Hue’s attractions were found along the banks of the romantically named Perfume River, which flows through the town center. On the north side of the Imperial City is the Citadel, built along the lines of Beijing’s Forbidden City, enclosed by 10-meter thick walls and surrounded by a moat. A few kilometers further up the river are perhaps Hue’s best mausoleums of the Nguyen Emperors, more like palaces than tombs, scattered around the rural areas surrounding the city. Hue is also a major producer of the Non La, or conical hats, in Vietnam, and the best place to buy these is at the enormous Dong Ba Market. Participants will spend the morning cycling to some of these top sights and have lunch in town. In the afternoon, they will board the train to Hanoi.

Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D)

Halong Bay - 08:00 – 08:30: Pick-up at the hotel and start the scenic 3.5-hour drive to Halong Bay. Enjoy the landscape of the Red River Delta countryside and take a short break along the way. 12:00 – 12:30: Embark on a cruise, followed by a short cruise briefing. 13:00 – 15:30: Savor a delectable lunch as the cruise navigates among the limestone islands. 15:30 – 16:30: Kayak among the hidden areas of the bay, around the Luon Cave area. 16:30: Return to the cruise. 16:30 – 17:30: Cruise to Soi Sim Island. Go swimming and relax at the beach of Soi Sim or climb to the top of the island for a panoramic view of Halong Bay. 17:30: Return to the main boat for a shower. Relax or snap photos as the sun begins to set. 19:00: Dinner is served. Socialize with other guests, fish for squid, or simply relax. Overnight on board.

Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L)

Hanoi - 06:30 – 07:00: Start the day with Tai Chi exercises or a photo hunt. 07:30 – 08:30: Have breakfast at sunrise. 08:30 – 09:30: Explore the amazing Sung Sot Cave, the most beautiful cave in Halong Bay. 09:30: Return to the boat. Freshen up and check out of the cabin. 09:30 – 10:30: Continue the cruise, exploring the bay and passing Ba Hang fishing village, Dog Islet, and more. 10:30 – 11:30: While heading back to the harbor, watch a cooking demonstration before enjoying a traditional Vietnamese lunch. 12:00: Disembark from the V’Spirit Classic Cruise. 12:30: Transfer back to the hotel in Hanoi city center. 16:30 – 17:00: Arrive in Hanoi.

Hanoi - The team will pick up participants at the hotel and introduce them to Hanoi city, including the One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Temple of Literature, and War Museum. After having lunch, participants will bid farewell.
