Bonorong Trip a must do - I did Bonorong and Richmond and had a blast on this 1/2 trip. They picked me up at my hotel and we had a guided tour of Bonorong which was amazing. To see the Tasmanian Devil and watch it feed was great! Wombats too!
The kangaroo field as I call it was a once in a lifetime experience for someone who does not live in Australia. To get to feed them and interact was great.
The Richmond portion well it was super windy so I found the Spirited Beverages and Tasmanian Tonic Company right by the bakery where we parked and had a wonderful inexpensive and unexpected whisky tasting!
Our driver was great very knowledgeable and entertaining.

Short and sweet - Mark was a great tour guide and gave us tons of information about the state and region, beyond the days sights themselves. The hour or so at the sanctuary was perfect for us. The hour at Richmond was very limiting and barely enough time to walk the street, get a snack and view the jail museum. It worked for us but may be too quick if you want a lunch plus any sightseeing. I’d eat beforehand to save time. Ideal for those short on time but looking to get out of Hobart.

A Fun Day Out - This tour was a fun day out. Our tour guide Phil was a wealth of knowledge on Tasmania and made the tour incredibly enjoyable.
Richmond was such a pretty place to visit and we were given enough time to explore it and visit Sweets & Treats which was the ultimate visit for any sweet tooth having every possible sweet imaginable from your childhood.
Bonorong Wildlife Park is a must to visit. It is not Government Funded and relies on tourists and to see how the care for all the wildlife that comes in most of which are injured is amazing. We got to feed the many kangaroos making their home there. We also got a tour around the grounds in which we saw the tassie devils as well as the many native birds including Fred the 114 year old cockatoo who even has a letter from the Queen.
For anyone heading to Tasmania I would truly recommend this tour as a great day out.

Good short tour with a good guide - A good 4 hour tour that was plenty of time to visit Richmond and Bonorong.
Hugo was an entertaining guide that told facts about Hobart along the way.
The mini van is not for tall people !. I’m 6 foot and the seats are cramped unfortunately but the van was not full so I could stretch my legs.
Bonorong was great..the kangaroos are friendly and the staff tell you a lot about the animals and their habitats.
The one thing I didn’t like was that the driver referred to indigenous people as “Aboriginals” which can be culturally insensitive and he should use the term “indigenous”.

Great Sights, but you better be fast - The tour began at the scenic waterfront, where we were picked up so that we could begin the journey to Richmond. It did not take long to get to Richmond and we were able to spend an hour in the village before heading to the wildlife park. At the wildlife park, we had a 20-40 minute guided tour, followed by some time to walk around and feed some of the animals.
The tour itself was quite nice and enjoyable as a different experience. There are some quirky things to do in Richmond, like visit the Pooseum (a museum dedicated to poop), go through an outdoor maze at Amaze, and visit the boutique tea rooms, game shop, and other locations. However, we only had one hour in Richmond, which was quite unfortunate as it left little time to explore the community; considering wr did not leave Hobart until 1pm, we could have easily left earlier in the day to enjoy more time in Richmond. The same can be applied to the wildlife sanctuary as we had only one hour there; although a small location, you can easily spend a lot of time simply feeding the kangaroos, who were more than happy to be fed while I was there.

Skip Richmond & more time at Bonorong - Richmond is over-rated, population 880. Not worth the time. Not enough time at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Should skip Richmond and do the sanctuary for much more time!. Feeding the kangaroos was fun, but needed more time. Tour was good but took up all our time. No time to see other animals such as Fred. Revise the timing or find another option.
