Interesting and enjoyable - Enjoyable trip. Collection and drop off made for a no hassle tour. Mark was an excellent guide, he was knowledgeable and light-hearted, good company for the day. Port Arthur itself is a very interesting site and well worth a visit.

Very lovely place, would be great to be living in one of the houses on display - Trip there in bus was good, learnt a lot about port arthur and tasmania in general, port arthur itself was beautifully kept, with many buildings in various states of damage but very well looked after . The Isle of death cruise was very good, and the guide told us a lot about people that were buried there, along with stories of people escaping and being caught and sent back, to van diemens land. The cruise could have been a bit longer, and you would need at least two days to really see the whole area, getting to see the houses that are beautifully kept inside.

Good experience - Alan, the bus driver and commentator, was amazing and really knew his stuff! The tour itself was really good, with only 16 people on our bus. We stopped at a few places on the way up to Port Arthur, as well as on the way back, some excellent photo opportunities. Overall I had a great time and it made the experience of solo travelling, not feel so lonely.

Satisfying trip to Port Arthur - It is a huge site so you have to be able to walk everywhere. I have mobility issues but luckily small shuttle buses will take you to different parts of the site. I found the time there allowed me to enjoy the boat cruise and tour of Dead Island. Very informative guide made this well worthwhile. I explored the main prison are but missed having a guide. The courts and guard house were also nearby. I then needed a break so got shuttle to the New Gaol and Asylum where there is a cafe. Both these sites are very informative and reflect changing ideas about incarceration. The other civilian houses are very pretty now. I also visited the Memorial area. More sombre and reflective feel behind the hedge. I felt I needed a second day to really learn about the site but focusing on key parts made it a very satisfying experience for me. The stops and commentary along the way were excellent and I learned a lot about Tasmania’s past and present.

Phil, our tour guide,... - Phil, our tour guide, gave us the history of Port Arthur on the ride from Hobart to Port Arthur. He oriented us inside the grounds and left us to explore before we boarded the Harbour tour. David gave us a humorous explanation of a few significant people buried on the Isle of the Dead. It lightenedd the mood.
