An experience at the top of the trees - If you are afraid of heights, your limits will be tested on this trip. Not just being high up. You can also see through what you walk on. But there is a good view and it is worth the trip. There was good information around the trip.

A must do - An absolute must do. Using the walkway at your own pace above the canopy gives you a unique perspective of the forest. Useful pamphlet with information at various stops very useful. Great cafe at the base was excellent.

Treetop walk and zip line - We thoroughly enjoyed the treetop walk and decided to therefore treat ourselves to the zip line experience too. Well worth the trip back up the hill to fly back down again on the zip line

Fun zip line ride - Beautiful sunny day on the coast and the tree top walk and zip line did not disappoint. Informative plaques about the native trees and great views looking down from above. View out over lake Mahinapua. The zip line felt really fast , experienced staff reassuring safety checked. Can recommend this and the cafe is also a great stop for wilderness trail cyclists

Zip line was really fun - A wonderful few hours here… felt very safe so high up. We paid extra to add in the zip line-47 meters high! Easy to book

Interesting walk among the trees - You can walk among the top of the trees on an elevated walkway - all constructed of steel so very secure. There is a tower accessed by a spiral staircase which is pretty spectacular - that's where the zip-lining starts from. There are informative notices about some of the trees on the walk up to the start of the metal structure. Unfortunately we lost the guide document somewhere on the walk up so we can't comment on its contents!

The views from the tower are a bonus - This is a similar experience to two sites in Australia namely the Giant Trees in WA and the Otway Fly on the great Ocean Road in Victoria. The structure takes advantage of topography to allow appreciation of the size of the trees. Where it differs from the Australian sites is that the spiral tower offers external views. On one side there are the Southern Alps and on the other there is Lake Mahinapua. There is also a zip line but I did not sample it. Well worth visiting.
